It is my position that you are morally obligated to share. You do not however have to tell how many you really have .............

I could picture Ted Kennedy more as Jethro Tull's Aqualung than Aquaman.
"Sitting on a park bench..."
I am bitter I deleted that FX miniseries "Oil Storm." This is nearly identical to what that fictional story was about.
Haven't seen you in awhile. Thanks for checking in. Everything ready for the long night?
"Re: Shep - I thought I heard a bit of fear in his voice a little while ago--I think the coat hanger latches at the Royal Sonesta sent him a message."
I thought it was the discussion with the weather guy, myself. I thought that was a pretty heated discussion (the first discussion, not the second one) and it sounded like Shep didn't realize just exactly what he had gotten himself into. Ever since that first discussion, he just looks like he's trying to hold back tears. At one point, I thought one of his reports sounded like a goodbye...it was the one where he started talking about where he "grew up."
"Can you please translate for the weather ignorant?"
Sometimes the hurricane jumbles up its eyewall and then rebuilds a new one, distantly like an onion growing a new layer. While the rebuilding is taking place, the hurricane weakens. When it's over the hurricane strengthens.
Traffic jams on highways leading out of New Orleans just hours before the storm hits -- irrefutable evidence of inexcusable incompetence by the mayor of the city and the governor of Louisiana.
True. Were I in such a situation I'd first try to help my family, followed by relatives, friends and the rest of my own. Having helped those close to me and my own kind, I don't think I would have time to help strangers, sadly. But if the occasion arose I would lend a hand to a stranger/foe.
CNN showing different things in New orleans and talking about the story. They call it Doomsday scenario.
RE: Chocolate--NO, it is not morally wrong to hide it from your husband or kids . . . they'd never appreciate it fully anyway. Chocolate contains chemicals that help you to remain calm and you OWE it to him to NOT share, so that you can eat it all and remain calm if the electricity goes out.So really, you are morally obligated NOT to tell him about the chocolate!
How do you like my twisted logic?
I am in BR,,I was asking about bad for NO. For so many years I have heard about the doomsday scenario of a storm like this, I cannot imagine thousands dead.
Hard to say without knowing the exact configuration of the roof. If there are vortexes present it could even be positive pressure. Most likely it would be null or static.
Most roofs of this type are bolted directly to other structural members, and those bolts receive a lot of scrutiny during construction.
All of this is worried speculation, and we can only hope that the city officials have been consulted by the engineering firm that designed this particular building.
Well the Super Dome is more than a few years old. They would have to research their design files. I can't remember projects I worked on five years ago.
Latest radar shows a wobble due north. Ugh.
"Funny... I always thought it was tane. (Octane?)"
'Pane... propane.
Thanks, I hope to hear from them soon.
Thanks - I think that's the station I've picked up in the past - but not tonight. Gawd, what's this - WLIB 'Air America' in NY???
I'm a fairly new Texan myself.
I guess where you are is more humid.
You definitely cannot grow tomatoes in Vegas. :)
Eyewall replacement cycles take about 18 hours; for whatever reason the myth has developed they take only a couple hours (additionally, people now proclaim about 4 times more ERCs in storms than they actually have.)
If Katrina just began an ERC a couple hours ago or is starting one now, there is no chance of it completing it and restrengthening before landfall.
