PHOENIX The leader of a volunteer effort to put civilians on the Mexican border to report illegal crossers says he is endorsing Arizona gubernatorial candidate Don Goldwater.
Chris Simcox, president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corporation, says Goldwater will make illegal immigration a top priority if he unseats Democratic Governor Janet Napolitano next year.
Goldwater, a Republican activist and former state employee, has pledged to lower taxes and get tough on illegal immigration.
Goldwater has criticized blamed Napolitano for not fully enacting Proposition 200, the voter-approved measure denies some welfare benefits to illegal immigrants
Napolitano spokeswoman Jeanine L'Ecuyer called the claim about Proposition 200 "nonsense."
Detention plan?
Repatriation (deportation) plan?
It's the governors responsibility to act, in the time of a State emergency. So what are his plans?
This Goldwater person should ask the people of Arizona to recall him if his campaign promises turn out to be no more than hot air.
"Extremism, in the defense of liberty, is no vice."
It would be nice if this Goldwater were to turn out to be a great conservative leader. I look forward to hearing the specifics of his plans.
Aye, "And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." --Barry Goldwater
other than the fact his last name is Goldwater - what is his platform?...and why should I vote for him?
FMCDH(BITS)
Go for it, if he is real.
"It would be nice if this Goldwater were to turn out to be a great conservative leader"
From what I've heard from people who have met him, Don Goldwater is the real thing.
I believe he is going to be at an event with Randy Graf in Tucson the weekend of October 8th. If you can make it, do.
I'm sure we'll be reporting more on Don and Randy afterwards.
If your news is accurate, then GOLDWATER FOR GOVERNOR!!!
And I truly hope that Randy Graf takes out that border security-gutting RINO Kolbe.
