TEHRAN (Reuters) - A gunman has shot an Iranian judge in the eye and hand outside his Tehran home, seriously wounding him, the justice minister said on Sunday.
The official IRNA news agency said Mohammad Reza Aghazadeh had been handling cases involving large land transactions near Karaj, an industrial satellite city to the west of Tehran.
"He is now in surgery," Justice Minister Jamal Karimirad told reporters. "I hope God helps us keep him alive".
Aghazadeh is the second judge to be shot this month.
Hassan Moghaddas, a judge who sentenced several reformist dissidents to jail, was shot dead in his car on August 2.
It is getting more interesting there!
I guess justice is only partially blind...
Don know why more of this kind of thing isn't happening there?
This is just the beginning of it...
Be patient!
It looks like the Iranians know exactly how to deal with activisit judges.
I say give the gunman a visa. we could use him here.
A judge was stabbed to death in the southern province of Fars earlier this month, and another was disfigured when acid was thrown on his face in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, the official said.

Inappropriate here. We vote with ballots not bullets.
It is good to see the bad guys get a taste of their own medicine but we don't want to cheer another group who is just as bad as the ones they replace. Maybe it is good guys using the only weapons they have. Let's hope so.
Our ballots have been nullified time and time
again, by the ACLU plague rats, and numerous
immoral, tyrant, societaly destructionist,
"queeens of hearts" pigs, that the DimoSocialists
have managed to infest our Judicial branch of
government with, over the last 65 years.
If the plague rats cant get their filth passed in the legislative body..they use their corrupt and deviate
"justices" to pervert the law by tryannical edicts.
yes, hopefully that will always be our way in the good ole USA
You are baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.....but funny!
Do we know anything about this judge? Is he as bad as the other guy that was shot awhile back?
Yeah I was aware of both these other incidents, I'm just suprised it isn't happening much more in Iran.
We hear of how the majority of folks there are under say 27 years old and that there is little support amongst these people for the current regeim.
Suprised more assults aren't hapening given the way the religious police beat maim and intimidate.
Apparently, someone filed an appeal on one of the judge's decisions, or a motion to reconsider.
