The only spot I know of in New Orleans that is above sea level is Monkey Hill in Audubon Park. :-)
Good morning. I heard some 'expert' on TV say that 70% of the city is below sea level. Have no idea if that is accurate, but do know that some areas are above sea level. But 5' isn't exactly comforting in a 20' storm surge.

Superdome is between the 0' and 5' contours, but appears to be on a raised platform. Looks like the elevation rises west toward the levee, where the convention center and related infrastructure (casino?) sit (with 16' and 19' elevation markings.) Those are probably some of their backup evacuation shelters that the mayor didn't want to name at the news conference this morning.
