I have never seen this before with a hurricane, look farther our from the hurricane, looks like a outer band doesn't it ? or a circle that is being formed around the hurricane.

A lot of people are concentrating on the city.

But what about the West Bank? There's a lot of people in NEw Orleans who'd rather see the suburbs taken out before the city falls.

Is that good or bad ?
What about that mass of storms northwest of N.O. ?
What do you think might happen, if a hurricane,, and a mass of thunderstorms collide like that ?
Would the hurricane absorb those storms ? or push it away ?

The only major road in and out is I-10. There are lesser 2 lane highways bleeding off going south and alongside I-10.

Getting into and out of the city is a regular headache for many people.

Don't think there looks to be ANY safe place in NO, 'cept for those allowed to go to the "last resort shelter," as the mayor stated. Be it a tourist or a resident ... it's your responsibility to be aware of your surroundings and current news in the vacation locale.

You have to know that people are buzzing furiously about this. Unless there's a language problem, no one there could avoid knowing this is coming, if they're watching the tube or out and about and conscious.

What I mean is, imagine the hurricane as the middle hub of a wheel, and then ? imagine a circle diameter from ( North part of the circle Maryland/Pennsylvania state line ) then to the east in the Atlantic/Bahamas ) then, ( south, Yucatan peninsula ) then west, ( west coast of Mexico ) and imagine all of that in a circle, don't you see a band forming ?
