I believe the ChiComms are much more involved behind the scenes in the terror than we imagine. They will ally themselves with our enemies in the Mid East (look at their recent military delegation to Iran), in Asia with Korea and the Russians (as close as the can get), in this hemesphere with Cuba and Venezuela (they already are), and on the sub continent with India, again as close as they can get. Sounds more and more like
the Dragon's Fury Series. They will do this, all with the ultimate goal in mind to confront us and drive us out of the western Pacific entirely...and the Persian Gulf area if possible.
They will hope they can play nice with and placate the Europeans and deal with them later as they do this IMHO.
If we wait to respond strongly until a time of their chosing, we will be faced with a very difficult scenarion probably involving multiple theaters of major war and then their grab for Taiwan and control out to the 1st ilsand chain and beyond in the Western Rim.
I expect, if we get a demo in the WH in 2008...within a year of the Olympics we will see things like this develop in earnest.
The time to act is now...strong economic pressure, and a Reagan style military challenge at the same time.
Just my opinion.

Not sure I can believe Condi was involved in that scandal anymore than just the fract that she was the Prevost at Stanford where the scandal took place. Just because she refuses to talk about it, doesn't implicate her. National Security scandals often get sealed for 50 years, just like the "Venona Project was sealed from 1945 to July 11th 1995, and maybe she has been told not to speak about the scandal

That's very true, Mike .... I just never knew she was a close associate to William Perry and worked with the Clinton admin. re China .. have NEVER seen a whiff of anything like the associations being discussed here.

Looks like both Rice and Perry were far far too cozy with people involved in technology transfers to the PRC!Perry was, IMO. But Rice has opposed the Chinese lobby on various fronts. For one thing since early in the Bush administration she has tried to keep the administration from being influenced by Henry Kissinger, who is far more accurately characterized as cozy with China. More recently she has opposed the EU's attempt to lift the arms embargo on China. These are some of a number of reasons I am inclined to see today's articles linking Rice with the Able Danger scandal as a self-defense move by those implicated in Able Danger. I will withhold judgement until I see some direct evidence of wrongdoing on Rice's part.

Very interesting article.
I knew of Condis association with Perry but thought it was merely a relatively loose professional association. I never took Condis involvement with Perry and China all that seriously....but Ill have to rethink that.
Everyone knows that the Clinton admin was up to their eyeballs in shady China business / campaign 'dealings'...including the other Sec of Def Cohen...who had his own history as well. Some of the Clinton activity with China falls within the bounds of treasonable.
It would be interesting if one cross referenced the Able Danger background data with people identified in the Cox Report...you remember that, the super secret report that was buried....maybe because it indicts the Clinton legacy.
Perhaps there's another angle to this story as well..one involving other foreign government associations that would prove embarrassing to pols in BOTH parties. Something that although not as serious as China, shows a pattern of influence peddling, and political corruption that may be SOP in DC.
Joel Mowbray was investigating and writing about this sort of corruption back in 2003...looking specifically at State Dept associations with Saudi Arabia. Perhaps Able Danger, looking along the same lines, was touching a little too closely to current or former prominent politicians and/or gov officials....maybe a former Sate Dept official or two?
Just a wild guess....who knows?
As I said the other day..this story IMO runs the gamut
Honor and Patriotism
Politics as usual
Rank Politics
Corruption
Criminality
Treason.
Theres a little bit of everything in this Able Danger mix.

Thanks, I am adopting your view of Rice on this matter unless there is different info in the future. It is far more plausible that her name is being thrown out there now by the very people who opposed ABLE DANGER and brought about its demise.... this can make it seem like they had some all-American "bi-partisan" concern about "domestic spying" when in fact what set off alarm bells was surely all the info on Clintonlite officials and ex-officials deeply implicated in misdeeds with China.

That is one f-ed up article. Long on innuedo and short of much real information. Only an idiot would believe that C.R. was on a "short list" to be Clinton's SS or a long list as far as that goes.
To: justshutupandtakeit
I think they mean she was on the BUSH campaign "short list" since she was known to be one of his principal foreign policy advisors by that point, indeed probably his main f.p. advisor during the campaign. But I think they're just throwing in Condi Rice's name to cloud the issue -- sure, her name will come up even on a simple GOOGLE search about Chinese espionage due to the Stanford connection, but what would be far more interesting to know is what Clinton-era names came up and why, i.e. was there some serious info related to Chinese espionage and "technology transfers" that would have been too embarrassing and even criminal for the people involved.

Like many WorldNet Daily articles it leaves much to be desired in terms of information and credibility. Guilt by association seems to be the m.o. here. Though something very odd happened here it seems.
