Cyber-sleuths working for a Pentagon intelligence unit that reportedly identified some of the 9/11 hijackers before the attack were fired by military officials, after they mistakenly pinpointed Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other prominent Americans as potential security risks, The Post has learned.
The private contractors working for the counter-terrorism unit Able Danger lost their jobs in May 2000. The firings following a series of analyses that Pentagon lawyers feared were dangerously close to violating laws banning the military from spying on Americans, sources said.
The Pentagon canceled its contract with the private firm shortly after the analysts who were working on identifying al Qaeda operatives produced a particularly controversial chart on proliferation of sensitive technology to China, the sources said.

Sources said the private contractors, using sophisticated computer software that sifts through massive amounts of raw data to establish patterns, came up with a chart of Chinese strategic and business connections in the U.S.

The China chart was put together by James Smith, who confirmed yesterday that his contract with the military was canceled and he was fired from his company because the military brass became concerned about the focus on U.S. citizens.

Condoleeza Rice B/S = propaganda.
Build their gallows high
It is interesting, isn't it? Clearly, the story is about more shenanigans from the Clinton administration, yet the MSM will try their uttermost to contort it into a story about a yet-to-be Bush administration.
The transfer of our extremely technical development vetting...wherein the dept of defense reviewed EVERY single aspect of any company wishing to deal with China or any nation in order to make sure our national security was not put at risk!
Certain tech being put up for sale to China ( or other nations) could be easily rotated into sophisticated weaponry. Checking out the technologies for sale was job taken away from the Dept of Defense of Defense...this dept was no longer able to inspect intricate technology our American companies wished to sell to China...the task of checking out the technology was assigned to the dept of commerce!
OH GAG ME!
But it happened.
And the companies willing to sell intricate tech to China....were wooed by the klinton administration who made it so easy for them to do so...those DNC coffers and kickbacks...don'tchaknow!
John Huang was a key player in all of this! Remember?
Sooooooooo>
This WALL put up to keep the FBI, CIA and Police from communicating important information.
This horrific wall of silence that GORELICK devised was invented to protect bill and hitlery from every having to face an investigation regarding their money making scams (SCREW NATIONAL SECURITY..they did not want ANYONE looking into their manipulating of our commerce dept for big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$).
That Gorelick then sat on the 9/11 commission is a TRAVESTY!
Because HER WALL between the FBI, CIA and POLICE had a side impact...it prevented information on Atta etc from being made known BEFORE 9/11 happened.
IT IS NO WONDER she wanted on the 9/11 commission and bill and hilly made that happen.....
Her position on the 9/11 commission made her immune from having to testify!!!
Plus she could use her seat to keep certain information damaging to the klintons from ever arising on the commission looksee. ( Which is probably why Able Danger was ignored, not allowed to surface during the 9/11 investigation).
It was a game.
And our crys to get her OFF THE COMMISSION WERE IGNORED.
Maybe it was SUSAN RICE, not Condi Rice. Susan Rice is also a black woman who worked under Madeline Albright at the State Dept. She is a real piece of work and she has been accused in the past of some shady dealings and was accused publicly of something to do with obstructing going after the terrorists before 9/11. She was on CNN (I think) spinning for herself and the Clinton Administration during the 9/11 Commissions investigation.
Attagate is part of this but not all.
Yes sir! Like the JFK "investigation", the infamous Flight 800 "investigation", the 9-11 "investigation", and the continuing saga of the UN "investigation".
Build their gallows high
We, in CA, who knew full well the breadth and range of what the Clinton Admin would and could do to "enemy-perceived-by-Liberals" were fighting the same "liberal" anti-2nd amendment people. We knew.
And WHO let her on the commission?
If Milwaukee US Attorney Steve Biskupic wasn't busy unraveling the DemonRAT vote fraud that went on up here last year and taking down the Milwaukee Common Council (3 of 17 guilty thus far on various corruption charges, and he's working over a 4th), I'd recommend him.

?.....ANTHRAX......connections?
"...If it comes out that enough was known to stop this, I am telling you, heads will roll,""'
No heads will roll UNLESS the thing that comes out is so horriffic that the sheeple are moved to put aside their outrage over ATM fess of two dollars and gas prices of three dollars to to go out and DEMAND someones head.
I do not see this happening for this reason: Clinton took money from the Chinese. Tech was transfered to the Chinese. The story got out years ago and NO ONE CARED!!! America, as a nation, does not care about apparent corruption at THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE LEVEL.
Rush ought to listen to himself once in a while. 3,000 dead--no heads roll. A solid quid pro quo at the presidential level--no one cares.
Remember the "poor slob" who was in charge of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th. He paid because he was in charge. This linkage has the result of keeping people in charge of anything on thier toes and reasonably honest. This linkage no longer exists and the ruling elite KNOW it.
Tell me again why President Bush supported Scottish Law.
My thought is that both the democrats and the republicans had a certain number of seats that each could fill.
I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THE MANNER THIS WAS DECIDED.
And I believe we have a RIGHT TO KNOW!
Jamie Gorelick should have never, ever, ever, ever been on that commission!
"The program also spat out scores of names of other former government officials with legitimate ties to China, as well as prominent American businessmen. There was no suggestion that Rice or any of the others had done anything wrong."
Headline says "MILITARY SPIED ON RICE" and yet all the article describes is that "patterns" were "captured" (as in, they made note of recurring information exchanges and took note of what/whom/how often.
I'm not sure that describes well an act of "spying" -- at least in the brief article we have here to read about what occured...
BUT, yes, it seems to indicate, by omitting any mention of Clinton and his Administration's relationship with China, that they're (either "the military" in reference to what the article says from a present day report, or, by Able Danger in the past) redirecting the focus, or attempting to.
And, is it really "news" in the sense of "emerging information/discovery" that the military and our government in general would be observing higher-profile individuals in these sensitive areas? Sr. Bush WAS, after all, head of the CIA and that his son was considering running, and that Rice was at Stanford as a (former) Secretary of Defense Cabinet member (George Schulz), I mean, I'd be really surprised if the military did NOT keep an eye on people like that, to some degree at least. This is a puzzling article, as written...too general, like it's baiting further action.
Schulz, former Secretary of State, that is.
Thanks for the excellent post, and your summary above is really all that needs to be said about this sad affair.
My hope is that words to the same effect will be uttered by the judge when he passes sentence on those found guilty of dereliction of duty and worse, leading to the 9/11 disaster.
Nightowl's suggestion that it was not Condi Rice but Susan Rice that was found on the charts is an excellent one. How about checking with Niles Lathem of the NYPost?
Deemed Rice a dangerous receiver...still.
