CEN Haoran, 7, was walking home with his grandmother after tuition when two men pounced on them.
One held his grandma, 69, at knifepoint.
And she watched in horror as the other attacker pinned the boy down.
The man then slashed his arms and legs with a chopper, reported Apple Daily.

God, look after the boy and lead him to recovery. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

A drug cartel and members were caught in HK. The leaders were older men in their 40's and the rest were mostly teens and young adults. After being arrested, all were tried in one big trial, one week later and given the death penalty (all of them).
After the trial they were taken to a big hall where wine was served to the prisoners and their families. Not sure how long the party lasted but they were all drunk when the TV showed them being loaded into the back of big trucks. They were singing "La Vida Loca" and giving the camera the peace sign.
They were executed that same afternoon (shot). End of story.
Good story.
Unfortunately this was how things would be handled 40 years ago. The Hong Kong that I grew up in had already suspended the death penalty. Nowadays, it is just the jail term.
And I think fire-squad was never used in HK. Hanging was the mode of execution.
"AUGUST 16: A mob killed Roeun Reath, 32, after a 36-year-old woman shouted for help while allegedly being robbed of her motorbike at 6 a.m. in Sala village, Kandal Steung district, Kandal province. Im Sophat, deputy chief of the district police, said the people stopped Reath then beat him to death while he and his accomplice were trying to escape on the stolen motorbike."
"I want to tell you a story .. and maybe it will be of some small consolation. I have visited Hong Kong many times and stay 1-3 mos each trip.Let me tell you about how these things are handled there."
How I would LOVE to here someone from HK tell a story that begins:
"I want to tell you a story .. and maybe it will be of some small consolation. I have visited The United States of American many times and stay 1-3 mos each trip. Let me tell you about how these things are handled there."
And have it end:
"They were executed that same afternoon (shot). End of story."
I think the f**kers that beat the soldiers in Seatle would qualify as a first focus group!!
Amen.
And please help his Grandmother to remove that awful scene from her memory, too.
This brings to mind yet another good story. There was a theft at a Jewelery store in Central (downtown HK). Two men escaped on foot. They escaped into a city of 3 million people in a 9 square mile area .. yet they were under arrest within 1/2 hour. How?
First of all, you have to understand Central. The streets are narrow, mostly one way streets, and sometimes to get to a location just a few blocks away, you end up doing a lot of driving. Public transportion is excellent there, but most people walk in Central.
Our Jewelery thieves escaped on foot. What did the Police do? They turned every traffic light in the immediate area to *Red* .. and traffic came to a dead stop. The police began a car to car, bus to bus search. Our thieves had hailed a taxi .. and realizing the police were heading towards them, they jumped out and attempted to escape on foot. They were quickly captured.
I've always been fascinated about how easily and quickly they accomplished the impossible.
About 20 years ago my wife and I were in HK. After a shopping trip and an extended time trying to find our way out of the malls to the street, we took a taxi to the hotel. It was after dark and the driver stopped on a narrow, dark street about three blocks from the hotel and said we would have to walk the rest of the way as he wasn't allowed into the hotel driveway. Sensing the probable danger we refused and insisted he take us the rest of the way. When he pulled into the hotel driveway no one seemed to even notice. He was like any other taxi there. As I paid him and we walked into the hotel lobby he was outside screaming at us, "F--k you! F--k you!!"
I am confident to this day it was a setup that we were fortunate to escape.
