Re: The Protesters at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
The Silver Star Families of America was set up to honor our wounded Soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines by establishing a Silver Star Flag to represent their sacrifice. Part of our mission is to provide whatever aid and comfort we can to the wounded and their families.
That is why the "protesters" at Walter Reed are particularly appalling to us. Of course they have every right to protest. But this right was paid for in blood by the very people they are harassing. I question not their right of protest but the location and the timing. It is an outrage.
With free speech comes responsibility. In our opinion the protesters have forgotten that. Everything that you say and do has repercussions and protesting at a hospital sends a very bad message to our wounded, their families and the troops in harms way.
We condemn the protesters and their support group in the strongest possible terms and we applaud the efforts of the Free Republic to counter the protesters. It is at least heartening to know that most Americans are willing to stand up for our wounded.
No wounded soldier, in fact no Armed Forces member, will be mistreated in any way on our watch without being confronted in every lawful way possible. The Silver Star Families of America stand side by side with organizations such as the Free Republic, to make sure that our honored wounded are treated with the respect and dignity that they have earned with their blood.

I saw one of the Code Pink b****** on Hannity & Colmes last night.
They still insist it is a vigil, even though there is no silence, no hymns, no real fellowship among the attendees.
