Just heard on LA County Fire frequency that 1 hour blackouts have been instituted....not sure whats up
LOL!
"That brings supply from the Pacific Northwest"
Hey! That's my power! Give it back.....well?
You betcha they better.
Re Texas Pipelines.
Probly should have stated it a bit different.
Most of the gas California uses comes from two sources.
Permian Basin, around Odessa, Goldsmith Texas
Gathering point Jal, NM Then compressed and goes West.
The other nexus:
San Juan Basin, around Farmington, NM, Aneth, UT
Gathering point, Chako Canyon, NM Then compressed and goes West.
Two major lines and if something happens to either California will have a disaster.
If both it will be a catastrophy.
All California gas powered plants will be down in a matter of minutes....
It's still on in Universal City too...
That didn't take long. Work on it.
WHAT A CROCK! The outside temperature at my home in Torrance is 76 degrees. It "never" gets hot here and air conditioned houses are virtually non-existent. So, electricity savings by cutting power here will be nil, but we're nevetheless scheduled to get shafted at 5:00. I hope some frigging environmentalist are happy because I am not.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - High temperatures and the loss of a key transmission line Thursday forced power officials in Southern California to impose rolling blackouts, leaving as many as half a million people without power for an hour at a time, officials said.
The California Independent System Operator, which operates the electric grid in California, declared a Stage 3 transmission emergency at 3:57 p.m., said Gil Alexander, a spokesman for SoCal Edison.
The ISO ordered the utility to reduce its demand throughout its territory, prompting rotating blackouts in areas of Fontana, La Puente, Cathedral City, Huntington Beach, Long Beach and Ontario, Alexander said.
The utility scatters the blackouts to lessen the impact, he said. The blackouts were expected to last about an hour before being shifted to other areas.
Did Some one Say Tuna ?
too much other dreck in the info pipeline at this hour.
Yea, I noticed you were real quick on the trigger, too.
LVM
I told you it was HUGH!
Gotta love the media. They'll tell us in Southern California about a pathetic hurricane heading for FL overnight but not about breaking news here.
I don't recall insulting anyone yet.
Sorry guys...I just turned on the A/C!
I did as well opened all my doors and windows so it should help cool the southland down too
hehehhe.....
That is almost Funny. I live in Temecula, and it's about 99 right now. Thanks for rolling along so I can keep cool. It is much appreciated.
But I think we shoudl all have mini nuke plants outside where the meters are.
blackout ping
How I've missed that Davis Energy graphic! Hey, we might even have to fire up the Calpowercrisis ping list again!
Okay, you say so. I'll try to lighten up.
