While news cameras were filming the event, Marine Jeff Key physically grabbed a cameraman from San Francisco local affiliate KGO. Key objected to the cameraman’s shooting position, which was on the same site where the protesters have erected crosses listing the names of fallen soldiers in Iraq. Here's a photo from right before the altercation took place:
I asked Mark Matthews of KGO about the alleged assault, “I’m not happy about it. We’re happy to abide by the rules when we know what the rules are. But there was no message communicated to us to stay out of the crosses. And last night, photographers, supporters of Cindy Sheehan, people praying, clapping and singing were here amongst the crosses. 13 hours later, it’s off limits without any notification to us.”
I asked one of Sheehan’s spokeswoman if she condoned Key’s assault of the cameraman. She would not answer my question directly, instead saying, “I think if we all do our fair share, we’ll work to keep everybody out of the way … That’s all we need is to have people stay out of the crosses … I think that’s all being worked out privately. I think the cameraman and the Iraq veteran was doing his best to honor the fallen will work it out.”

Your point is largely true (the ultra-pro-abortion girls are usually the kind that don't need to worry about being pregnant too much), but one of my uber-lefty neighbors in Tallahassee (a college town with a lot of lefties... I know, it's a real shock) is reeeeeeeally hot.

What gets me is their use of the cross....a totally CHRISTIAN symbol. It is blasphemy for the left....(who HATE the Religious Right).... who proceed every day to destroy any mention of God, etc., in the public square...who defile everything Jesus stood for......and NOW they resort to using the crosses???? They are such hypocrites!!!
You'd think that she is the only mother in the world who lost a son in combat..I think she enjoys the attention far more than any grief she is claiming..What an opportunistic weasel! Whatever compassion and empathy she deserved has fallen by the wayside.

Couldn't find the thread on Operation Iraqi Freedom, so I am starting a new thread.
Just wanted to let you know that I heard from Railbait's son, PFC Benjamin Viges (but he signed his note "Hart").
He thanked me for the 'care package' I sent a few months ago. I don't know how long it took for him to actually get it, or how long ago he wrote the note, but he is still overseas.
He says he "can't wait to get back to the states," and that he plans to marry. Says "her name is Carrie and she is the best thing that ever happened to me. Dad would have loved her too."
In closing, he wrote: "I have a new appreciation for my country since seeing first hand how evil Saddam was to his people. Thank God they are not his people anymore."
When I watch the nightly news and read the daily papers, I only wish the Iraqi people (those who are now treating the Americans like the enemy) could read the sentiment expressed by this one soldier.
Lets all wish him godspeed and a safe and quick return home.

Hey I only reposted what someone else said about you on a message board. I have my own beef with Cindy. You see I'm Jewish. I see David Duke supporting her. Arians are coming to Crawford to support her because of her anti-Israel stance. I've read her speeches and seen her writings that this war is for Israel.
I remember Vietnam. I remember protesting the soldier. It's a shame I'll never reconcile with. I also remember the boat people being slaughtered. I've worked with the grown children of those who escaped the slaughter. I won't stand by quiety allowing protesters again to break the moral of our men and women in theater, or watch the slaughter of millions again if we leave now.
I'm going to bed and will not waste my time with you anymore.
