IT'S BEEN VERIFIED FROM
REUTERS:Iraq constitution finished, will be approved -govt Thu Aug 25, 2005 10:03 AM ET
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A final version of Iraq's constitution has been completed and the document will be approved later on Thursday, government spokesman Laith Kubba said.
He told reporters parliament did not need to formally meet to approve the charter because it had effectively been passed on Monday. Iraqi lawmakers had said they would allow three more days for a review of the document in order to try to bring Sunnis opposed to the deal on board.

Excellent. Oh how I can't wait to see the Muslims and jihadis around the world celebrating Iraq's newest and significant achievement! I expect there will be dancing in the streets, eating and a waving of the Iraqi flag! And the ululating! Don't forget the ululating!

If Iraq has a constitution and a popularly elected fully functioning government, will MOTHER SHEE(p)HAN(d) still call the terrorists FREEDOM FIGHTERS?.........

It's so comical.
The MSM are the biggest islam appeasers on the planet, but when it's mentioned in the iraq constitution, they run negative headlines trying to claim it as a defeat for Bush.
These tools are soo damn predictable.
To: areafiftyone
That still doesn't say whether the Sunni have agreed, which is the crux of the matter.

A final version of the Iraqi constitution has been completed and is set to be approved, an Iraqi Government spokesman has said. Political leaders had until tonight to agree a new constitution.
Parliament had already granted Shi'ite, Sunni and Kurdish negotiators three more days to resolve the outstanding issues.

"That was fast. It took the USA 7 years (I think)."
Of course we also had 13 different factions and not the three that I keep hearing about in Iraq. And don't tell the Iraqis that ours didn't allow women to vote and still allowed slavery. Obviously the culture was different back then - but the culture is different in Iraq. I'm hoping that the taste that the Iraqi women had for their previous elections will keep them aggresive to keep their rights to vote.
