"I would say God has the power but not the right to do so."

What "rights" do you hold over your "own" property? IMO, to deny God's sovereign right over ALL of His creation is equal to denying God's sovereignty in one's personal life. IIRC, He is proclaimed "Lord of heaven and earth."

God exercises the power of life or death all the time. I can't say he's violating our rights in doing so.

If God has the right to do something, it means there is a list of rights he has and, presumably, a list of rights he does not have. Who created such a list? From what source does God get rights? Himself? That means he can change the rights he gives himself at any time. That doesn't seem like much of a "right."

Which leads to the age-old question: When God acts, does he do what he does because it is right, or is it right because he does it?
