Not so. If there's a market for it, it will exist. There's tons of talk show hosts out there. As far as "purity" goes, Bill Bennett comes to mind.
Personally, I find it dull. But that's my preference...though I daresay that Rush reaches the unconvinced better than a purist will.

Rush doesn't get into sexual innuendo as a result of his prurience.
All of his discussions were predicated on items in the news.
Commenting on the social conditions is intrinsic to commenting on politics.
The illegitimacy rate and the incarceration rate is directly linked to Johnson's Great Society programs.
