Cindy Sheehan, the 48-year-old California mom whose anti-war protest has sparked international interest and plenty of controversy, will likely return to her post near President Bush's Central Texas ranch late Wednesday afternoon after a week-long absence.
Michelle Mulkey, a spokeswoman for the peace movement that Sheehan triggered just outside the town of Crawford, said Tuesday afternoon that Sheehan was expected to be back at her makeshift campsite near the Bush ranch sometime after 5 p.m.
Sheehan, whose son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, 24, died in the Iraq war in April 2004, began her protest on Aug. 6, declaring she would remain outside Bush's ranch during his month-long August vacation. She sought a military withdrawal from Iraq and an audience with President Bush.
Both requests were spurned by the Western White House, though President Bush has told reporters he sympathizes with Sheehan for her loss. He has also insisted on her right to protest the war, even as he maintains that he and many families of military personnel in Iraq disagree sharply with Sheehan's comments.
While Bush has insisted the war in Iraq is part of the nation's war on terrorism arising from the attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., in 2001, Sheehan has said that Bush's stated reason for invading Iraq in 2003 -- Iraq's alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction -- was actually groundless and fabricated by the Bush administration.
Sheehan left her post at so-called Camp Casey last week after her mother suffered a stroke, prompting Sheehan to rush to Los Angeles to be by her side. Meanwhile, the anti-war movement has continued near Crawford, highlighted by a three-day visit by folk singer Joan Baez, herself a symbol of the anti-war movement of the 1960s and '70s.
The protest has also prompted a defiant counter-protest led by local businessman Bill Johnson that is expected to see its highlight Saturday afternoon. Both groups have claimed to be eager to debate the issues. However, no actual agreement between the two camps is evident so far.
here we go again....... I'm getting tired of this.
How's mom doing?

They don't care. Just as long as they can get this idiot back to the ditch in Texas so they can exploit her and her son's corpse some more.
I had problems posting this article. I hope we don't get multiple copies. If the mods see more please delete the copies.
I would have like to heard the phone conversation between Mulkey and their useful idiot, Cindy. "Get your ass back here. The media left when you did!" ROTFL!!!!
What about her poor bloody mother? Dumped, I assume. No publicity in helping Mum.
I hope "Slippin' 'em the Sheehan" becomes common slang for conning the gullible.
Hang in there, it won't be long before Congress is back in session, Judge Roberts' confirmation process will start, and football season begins, and this wingnut will be punching her ticket back to Oblivion.
The MSM is already ignoring/avoiding her like the plague - they already realize she's about as likely to "bring down the Administration" as Gannongate.
Cindy's "jumped the shark."
Video clips here of Christopher Hitchens giving Cindy h*ll on Hardball, 8/17.

"here we go again....... I'm getting tired of this."
so are the american ppl
I doubt the media will be back, at least not in the kind of numbers that impress Cindy's handlers.
LOL! Most excellent picture.
Hilarious.
"She sought a military withdrawal from Iraq and an audience with President Bush."She originally only wanted the President to answer her one question. Now she wants an audience with the President and a "military withdrawal from Iraq." The President is correct to stay as far away from her as is possible.
If y'all can add the proper keywords that will help. I suspect their are several ping lists interested.
I look forward to our side debating with theirs.
We will wipe the floor with those idiots!
Waco = Bush spurns meeting with Cindy.
LOL!

Exhibit number one in the shameless and disgusting exploitation of Spc. Casey Sheehan. By all accounts Spc. Casey Sheehan supported the war and the President. He re-enlisted and was a volunteer on the rescue mission for which he gave his life to save others. Attached to a replica of his coffin is a sign that purports to be speaking in his voice that says "George please speak with my mother."
