Last week in this space, I mourned the passing of several classmates, including Richard Sikora. The news of his demise must have been quite a shock to him, as he is alive and well, and currently resides in Clinton, N.Y., where he is an artist and designer.

Mr. Gallagher is clearly a skilled journalist with a nose for hard facts and a painstaking attention to detail.

Clearly he deserved a Peabody, and we should all regard his magisterial opinions with awe.
