Vindication at last all those doctors who told patients "It's all in your head."

I know several women who suffer from this, and am so glad to see that it is finally being taken seriously.

I was diagnosed with this about 5 yrs ago. IMHO it's just a place to dump the unknowns of common aches and pains and another reason to prescribe lifelong drugs.

Is anyone familiar with the work of John Lowe, D.C.? It is worthwhile checking out his website (www.drlowe.com). He has written a massive tome, "The Metabolic Treatment of Fibromyalgia," in which he states that fibromyalgia is, for the most part, a manifestation of hypothyroidism (or under-treated hypothyroidism). I recommend his work (and his site) to all.

Best,

es

This is very important. I want to send this to Father Vincent. Maybe it can be of some help to him.

I don't buy the depression theory put forward in this article. My nature is sunny 95% of the time. Every human being suffers from temporary bouts of 'depression' due to circumstances in life such as the grieving process of losing Loved Ones.

I've heard emotional trauma triggers FMS, etc. I've had sore/stiff muscles since HS, and I'm 57. I went for years being untreated for hypothryroidism because I was considered just 'border line'. It had to get critical before the medical profession would treat me.

Here is an older thread on FMS FMS

I have had that for many years. My medications have taken care of most of the pain. I also have costochondritis which causes more problems than the fibro.

Brain and spine?

Does a good chiropractor help with this?
