I won't waste the energy to cut and paste my post, but if you disagree with the fact that Birmingham has almost every shopping and dining option that Atlanta has, then you are showing your ignorance. There may not be a Louis Vuitton or some of the Phipps-type boutiques, but that's why I posted 'almost'. Having said that, I could live to be 101 and never lose a wink of sleep if I never get to shop at Coach or Tiffany.

Lot's of fallacies there. By your logic, I could say that Atlanta has "almost" the same shopping and dining options as New York or Los Angeles and I'd be correct.

The fact is no where close. YOu like it and that is fine - we all have our likes and dislikes. What is silly is when a person has to make up things to make their home sound better.

I would take Georgia or Alabama over most states in the country, but avoid both Atlanta and Birmingham.

Ann Arbor, Michigan?? Yeccch.

You could not pay me enough to live in Atlanta. We have had to go there for medical reasons but we have not been there in a number of years. I would take B'ham over ATL. As a matter of fact, we have to go down there soon. The only thing wrong with B'ham is that they are working on I65 all of the time. They were working on it way back in 72 and are still at it.
