My beef with Robertson is he is a dumbass. He is a useful idiot for Chavez, but Ropbertson doesn't mind, because it gives him ink, and ink = $$$$$$$.
Nailed it. Of course, he also gives ammo to the "Christians = Taliban" crowd that occasionally rears its ugly head here on FR. The only reason Robertson is still in any way relevant is because of the copy he provides for the anti-Christians. He's starting to occupy the same strata as Ken Phelps.
