If Lott had any sense of duty....he would retire.

Neither of these wimps measure up...

The country needs a LEADER who is a FIGHTER to survive, not one of these pansy assed politicians...

Senator Lott,

You are my Senator. I have donated to your campaign, and to the Senate Republicans every time that I am asked to. I have earned the right to be heard.

Why are you not helping to battle the enviro-whacks that are trying to derail drilling for known deposits of Natural Gas, residing only a few miles offshore in Mississippi? You should be out in front of this battle!

Why not stop selling your book and help us bring JOBS to Mississippi, and DOMESTICLY produced FUEL into AMERICA's distribution system?

A loyal Conservative on FR.

I have NO financial stake in this endeavor... not past high fuel prices!

That's true. I had forgotten about the BET thing. I don't know what was worse; the way the GOP machine turned on him, or the way he threw himself down before the altar of political correctness and begged for forgiveness.

That the Left has effectively triumphed in writing the offical history of civil rights and race relations to the point that any paean to something before the 1960s is automatically equated with white supremacy is one of their greatest victories, as it pretty much guarantees that they have the high ground in any debate about such matters.

I know its tough for Republicans because the mainstream media will collaborate with the Dems and the radical ethnic interests groups to lend credence to all sorts of bogus charges against them. In a way its understandable how the GOP has come to prefer to run from fights on contentious, hot-button issues and put on vacuous shows like the last convention where they try desperately to garner positive media reaction.

But this results in GOP timidity on even those issues where the majority holds conservative views (gay marriage, racial preferences, immigration, etc), and it means that they are competing within the rules set down by the Left. And that means we'll always be on defense.
