What if he's NOT actually a reporter? What's the worst-case scenario of the results then?

Some people get jerked around, others don't.

Why don't you focus all this energy on getting him his answer, rather than scolding others for not helping him? If it's so bloody important to you that he get his help, then by all means, help him. Lead by example.

As for me, I (a) don't have the information he wants and (b) don't believe he's really a reporter and (c) think he would know where on FR to get this info if he had really been around as long as he claims.

You still didn't answer my question -- not even you, Leapfrog -- the only "point taken" is that if a reporter is going to slant the news, he'll do it with or without the help of a media liaison contacted through FR.

I don't care if he's legit or not. Maybe he just likes to get attention, maybe he's just lazy, or maybe he really is a busy reporter and figured this would be a quick way to get info on a NON-FR event (Jim Rob wouldn't be the guy to contact, I wouldn't think). I also think that if it were me, I'd go about getting the info in a different way.

What I AM saying is that you guys here protest too much, over something that is utterly inconsequential. You give conservatives a bad name as prototypically mean-spirited, narrow, petty, and suspicious. Save it for when it really matters. When you respond the way you do to this guy, you don't do anybody any good.
