Earle lends passion to Iraq war protest near Bush's ranch - Steve Earle sings for peace advocates and soldiers' relatives near Crawford
COUNTRY MUSIC CRAWFORD, Texas When Steve Earle got his invitation to perform at the Camp Casey protest outside President Bush's Crawford residence the singer-songwriter asked organizers to think twice about their choice.
"I think this is the beginning of a mainstream movement against the war in Iraq, so I wanted them to consider who I am and the kind of lightning rod I can be," said Mr. Earle, who has a history of activism against the death penalty and who caused a stir in 2002 with the song "John Walker's Blues," which he wrote about captured American Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. "I didn't want to be more trouble than I'm worth."

Here is the new Mrs. Earle...
He sure thinks a lot of himself.
Wonder if he warned Chevy what they were stepping in before signing him for advertising.
It is quite depressing knowing that leftist scum has such a beautiful wife. I wonder what she sees in him?
But, other than those things, you have a point.
And I must add - despite some searching, I've never seen a pic that does justice to the way she looks in person.
Probably as nice a place as Industrial St. in Flint, Mich!!!
"I wanted them to consider who I am and the kind of lightning rod I can be," said Mr. Earle.
Oh, there's a certain kind of lightning rod I'd like him to be.
Just another alum from the Willie Nelson/John Mellancamp School of "Bite the Hand That Feeds Me" music.
Wow, SEVENTH marriage ...

Singer-songwriters Steve Earle and Allison Moorer were married Thursday (Aug. 11) in Nashville during a ceremony at the Hermitage Hotel, The Tennessean newspaper reports. It's the seventh marriage for Earle, 50, who was married twice to one of his previous wives. Moorer, 33, was previously married to songwriter-producer Doyle "Butch" Primm. Earle and Moorer began touring together in 2004. They appear in concert Tuesday (Aug. 16) in Albuquerque, N.M., and Wednesday (Aug. 17) in Grand Junction, Colo.
Yeah, but only six wives. ;-)
At least this week anyway. 8^(
I'm not sure what Steve Earle's major malfunction is, but he is a great talent. Maybe it is the drug abuse, or the alcohol, but it is a shame that his voice and his mind can't be salvaged for a better use. Too bad; he has been off my approved listening list for many years.
BARF ALERT

Good song.
There are worse ways to spend a week...
Well .. it may be a "movement" .. but I don't see any democrat politicos showing up to give them support. Poor things .. they think it's still the 60's.
I stand corrected.
But I just know that underneath that gaunt, sober facade, there's a fat drunk....waiting, waiting.
