Reminds me of when the Beatles boasted that they were more famous than Jesus.
Actually, I like the Beatles. But that was a pretty silly remark.
He reminds me of something C.S. Lewis said. He said that when he was an atheist, he didn't believe God existed, but also that he was angry at God for not existing.
Apparently, Mr. Flemming was expecting more from allowing God the privilege of converting him than he ended up getting. Many (but by no means all) atheists have a grudge about the whole thing.
I think that's how Webster defines "oxymoron."
"Once you know Jesus...there ain't no going back!"
It was. Someone should have told them the real test is to wait two thousand years and then see if you still have millions of followers worldwide. Or asked them if they really thought that anyone would be fed to the lions sooner than denounce the Beatles.
When you start elevating yourself over Jesus Christ, who has been worshiped and followed by millions for thousands of years, you need to be brought down a few pegs.
Their actual words were that more people had heard of them than had heard of Jesus. At the time I thought they were probably right. No blasphemy intended, just the facts.
