Back in the 70's, there used to be this mentally disturbed guy who would stand on the street very quietly and then, when someone walked by, he'd let out this horrible scream- and scare the hell out of you. He did it once to me and I almost had a heart attack. Anyway, whenever I saw him standing around, I'd just wait on the other side of the street until someone else walked by him- and watch their reaction.

Sounds like what happens to the offspring of a Jehovah's Witness and a Unitarian,....he goes around the neighborhood knocking on doors for no reason at all.

Wow, we had one of those guys in our neighborhood when I was a kid.

He branched out into prowling around people's houses at night. When he graduated to trying to jimmy open my parents' sliding glass door, he got two charges of No. 8 shot in the seat of his pants, courtesy of my dad.

He never came around our house again after that . . . some messages get through even to the mentally challenged.
