Interesting story.

Definitely GGG digest ping, maybe even "regular" GGG ping.

A stepped mud brick ziggurat temple of the moon god is seen in Ur in this US Army photo. Ur is the reputed birthplace of Abraham.(AFP/HO-US ARMY)

The site described as Abraham's home has 27 rooms and five courtyards, most of them small by contemporary standards. Very interesting. This is quite reasonable, given the extended family and staff probably living there.

Built around 2100 BC, the zigguratThree thousand years before Mohammed had the Koran beamed into his head while sitting on a rock the writer still managed to get Islam in on the first sentence.

I humbly suggest you view "Year of the Dragon."
Mickey Rourke's character does a great job in addressing the "isms" and "traditions" and the "culture" to a gaggle of Chinese mobsters.
The only fast route to ending terrorism is for all of the rest of us to suspend our own superstitions and belief systems, and steel ourselves to out-terrorizing the terrorists.
Do it for the "children."

Very intellectual man too. My platoon had a two hour tour with him. The excavated areas around Abraham's home is such a maze, with much of it an unfinished excavation. We had some pretty cool pictures from there. It gets VERY windy up on top of that!

Thanks FairOpinion. A regular ping topic, although I agree with, hmm, I think it was Gordon, that Abraham was from north, not east.
To all -- please ping me to other topics which are appropriate for the GGG list. Thanks. Please FREEPMAIL me if you want on, off, or alter the "Gods, Graves, Glyphs" PING list --
Archaeology/Anthropology/Ancient Cultures/Artifacts/Antiquities, etc.
