Embattled Arnold disses Romney

As he barges into Boston with his unwelcome retinue for tomorrow's Rolling Stones concert at Fenway, embattled California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has managed to ignite another political tempest - irking Gov. Mitt Romney by not paying proper homage to the Bay State's GOP strongman.

Schwarzenegger's visit was already shaping up as a fiasco, with angry California nurses on his heels and his $10,000- to $100,000-a-head soiree at the Stones show fast becoming a box-office bomb.

Things only got worse yesterday, according to GOP political sources, when Romney swept out of town to his lakeside New Hampshire mansion without even sharing a brisk handshake with his fellow gubernatorial goliath.

``Romney seems to think that Arnold should have called him first as a courtesy,'' said one GOP strategist. ``But also, I'm sure Romney has multiple issues with Arnold's politics and personal exploits.''

Romney, vice president of the Republican Governor's Association, did not speak directly to Schwarzenegger as the stumbling ``Governator'' arrived in his political back yard, Romney spokeswoman Julie Teer confirmed.

When you read the article, it beomes appearant that this is much to do about nothing. It's an Entertainment Tonight dish with no calories, quite embarassing to the writer as a matter of fact.

The headline is directly contradicted in the story itself:

"...Teer said the staffs of both governors have been in touch and that Romney's office and the state Republican Party have been helpful to Schwarzenegger aides by providing potential donors for tomorrow's Fenway schmoozapalooza..."
