"Erdmann is a manager, had grown attached to Gooey..." Without reading the entire article I can tell this is going to be a sticky situation!

Arrgh.
I've had several dealings with our local Fish and Game folks, and they tend to be really officious and overbearing. Last time I was dealing with a bleached blonde bimbette with a .38 in a holster. She was totally clueless about nature, and acted like some kind of cartoonish cop. Totally unappropriate behavior.

Hebner said, the center might not want the attention. Must be in a Detention Center.

Erdmann watched as Gooey had his first solo flight on July 26. She even had a commemorative coin made at Northwest Territorial for the occasion. My imagination wonders at what portrait might be embossed in per chance another coin commemorating Gooey's arrest by the authorities. I think it would sell millions, if inexpensive.

They should throw the book at this woman for kidnapping. Hey, when an animal is killed by someone they call it murder. Cruelty to animals is considered a felony. So throw the law of humans at this woman. Animals are covered by the Constitution somewhere. :)

In Arizona somebody saved an injured wild bird, and restored it to health, except that it could not fly, because its wing was permanently injured.
Enter bureaucracy. The bird was siezed, since it was not allowed to be a pet. And then it was destroyed, because
birds which cannot be returned to the wild are destroyed.
Perfectly logical, according to the government.
