Did the store owner / good guy have a shotgun or a revolver? Does the reporter think they are synonymous?

Pretty easy to tell the difference. . .especially when you can get your info from the police. . .that is, if they even cared. Besides, "shotgun" isn't an obvious evil tool like a revolver. . .a revolver is an evil thing that evil people own to carry while concealed and a shotgun is not as evil and is used for skeet shooting. . .see. . .mustn't let those evil revolvers and evil SUV's get good press.

Oh they do. It's very common in home invasion robberies out here in Cali. Your supposed to freeze rather than run and retrieve your weapon. After all they might be the "real" police executing a no-knock warrant on your house, and they would be justified gunning you down in your own home accroding to many Freepers.

I don't think this really happened. I've read NY Times as well as the CNN and MSN news sites and they never mention it.

The media is very quick to report gun use by criminals, surely evidence that gun rights help prevent crime would be on every news site right away.

Actually that's a common technique in the 332 home invasion robberies in the Pittsburgh, PA area last year.
