PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia police announced Saturday that they have charged the 25-year-old former boyfriend of LaToyia Figueroa with her death.

Stephen Poaches, of West Philadelphia, the missing pregnant woman's former boyfriend and the father of her unborn baby, was charged with the murder of the 24-year-old woman.

Figueroa has been missing for a month.

Philadelphia police recovered her remains early Saturday in nearby Chester, located about 13 miles southwest of Philadelphia.

When Poaches was arrested in Chester, police said he was wearing a bullet proof vest and was carrying a pistol.

LaToyia Figueroa's father, Melvin Figueroa, said he was relieved that an arrest had been made.

"Now she can rest in peace," he said. "All I want is justice with that peace."

Figueroa, who was five months' pregnant when she disappeared and already the mother of a young girl, was last seen on the afternoon of July 18 in West Philadelphia. Police received a missing persons report July 21, McClane said.

The remains were recovered in a grassy, partially wooded lot near homes and a road in Chester. The area was cordoned off by yellow police tape Saturday morning.

A few dozen members of the Figueroa family and supporters arrived at the scene shortly after daybreak, clustering close to the police tape and embracing each other.

They declined to comment to reporters.

Relatives and friends, who have papered the city with flyers and held large-scale searches for any sign of Figueroa, had just marked the one-month anniversary of her disappearance. A reward fund for information had reached $100,000.

If young women would keep their pants on .. they would be less likely to lose their life and the life of their unborn child.

And if young men would keep it in their pants there would be less unwanted child..............

The number one cause of death in pregnant women is murder.

But no one would know that because MSM wouldn't want you to see the effects of Roe v. Wade. We know how the democrats (most of them), love the death party.

If guys have been given the green light to flee from responsibility (it's her choice, her body...not part of both of us), of course this is going to happen.

God forbid you teach abstinence.
NARAL and Planned Parenthood keeps giving out their faulty condoms (Consumer Reports, second to last worst), birth control and by the way come back for an abortion when you get pregnant, teaching second and fourth graders about sex in public schools without their parents permission and setting up Emer. Contraception for over the counter, non-prescription status (even though it has been banned before and nothing has changed).

44 million abortions later...we still don't get it. This is why you have a second generation that have no idea how to be a man... much less a father (because their father's weren't there).

This is why we have Social Security, illegal immigration and other problems.

People say there's no slippery slope...
In Spring we starved a disabled woman for 13 days...
because her husband didn't want her, she was substandard.
Now we want to play with embryos to save (yet, keep killing), to be God. The Groningen Protocol in the Netherlands wanted the age raised to 12 for euthanizing children they (doctor's decision, not the parents), deemed unfit.

We need to wake up.

According to Fox, they caught him moving the body. That doesn't sound very "innocent" to me.

But the democrats want your child to know everything about sex in schools...not abstaining...you also can't be notified if your twelve year old is going to get an abortion. But guess who they'll call if something goes wrong?

And if certain men would keep their pants on, they wouldn't be tempted to murder their girlfriends and their babies.

Works both ways.

Also, it should be noted that some married women who are pregnant are also killed by their husbands--Laci Peterson and Lori Hacking come to mind.

Haven't these nutcases learned
anything from the Peterson &
Hacking cases?

Especially the Peterson case.
If ya don't want the responsibilties
that come w/being a father.....
keep your pants on! Or use condoms. fgs.

15 posts before the victim is blamed!

Could be a record.

I'm waiting to hear that she drove him to it, women are really the ones who abuse men, and she probably falsely accused him of being the father.

Speaking of Greta, look how fast this missing woman was found, and look how long it is taking to find Natalee Holloway.

May she and her unborn baby soul's rest in peace.
And prayers for the family, her 7 yr old daughter and her father. Very sad.
