Rasmussen Reports ^ | August 19, 2005

Posted on 08/19/2005 6:50:33 PM PDT by zendari

August 19, 2005--Cindy Sheehan, the grieving mother who maintained an anti-War protest outside of President Bush's ranch, is viewed favorably by 35% of Americans and unfavorably by 38%.

Sheehan is viewed favorably by 34% of men and 35% of women. Forty-two percent (42%) of men and 34% of women have an unfavorable view.

In general, people see in Sheehan what they want to see. Opinion about her is largely based upon views of the War, rather than views about the woman herself. Democrats, by a 56% to 18% margin, have a favorable opinion. Republicans, by a 64% to 16% margin, have an unfavorable view. Those not affiliated with either major party are evenly divided.

People who think we should withdraw troops from Iraq now have a positive opinion of Sheehan (59% favorable, 12% unfavorable). Those who do not think we should withdraw troops at this time have a negative view (15% favorable , 64% unfavorable).

Among those with family members who have served in the military, Sheehan is viewed favorably by 31% and unfavorably by 48%.

I guess we know now where the country stands on this nutcase.

I wonder if the libs will keep whining about Bush's approval in the mid 40s.

35%? Are we talking about her popularity level or her BAC?

Man, you made me do a google on BAC.

I think I know what you mean, but I'm going to invite you to do the same and see how many results you come up with.

If you Freepers don't think the "The mom suffering a stroke" wasn't a convenient, maybe plannned, manipulated reason to get the Cindy "Traitor/Treason/Democrat/Witch" Sheehan out of Crawford, Texas, and into the black hole of obscurity, then you are smoking the funny stuff. For goodness sakes, Harry Reid got a look at her poll numbers, thought the Democrat Party evaporated, and promptly suffered a minor stroke. Of course, we all wish Harry a speedy and healthy recovery, but the poor man has to get real first. Whoever dreamed up using Cindy Sheehan as a greiving mom, was a a number butt head!!! The Democrats and the MSM sink further into the deep black hole, maybe forever, along with the brainless piece of vermin known as Cindy Sheehan. She has become the woman America loves to hate!!!

If that's what the poll says, her negatives are much higher in reality. I don't trust polls.

One thing that really bugs me about this story is that her son dose have a father. I have never heard a thing about the fathers point of view other than he has filed for divorce. Only thing I can think of is the fathers point of view must not jive with the liberal whack jobs that have choreographed this whole Cindy Sheehan farce.

Exactly right!

I would venture to guess that neither 35% nor 38% or Americans follow the news closely enough to know who Cindy Sheehan is, and even less know exactly what her issues are or what she is protesting.

If somebody took a camera ( a la Jay Leno with Jaywalking), and interviewed people on the street about Cindy Sheehan, the great majority of them wouldn't know who she even is. The way a pollster gets any kind of answer from interviewees is by first introducing the issue or the person to them and then asking how they feel about the person or issue that that person just learned about. Sort of like asking: if dinosaurs were able to be produced from preserved DNA and they were deemed to be dangerous to people, would you be in favor of them populating the earth again? To begin with, most people would not have even been thinking about the problem or issue and then a loaded question was asked. The issue was not on their minds to begin with.

Polls only help pollsters stayed employed and can be manipulated to attain the desired results of any party.

And this is as the facts on who this kook really is have barely begun to get out.

I bet if all Americans knew the truth about Cindy Sheehan and what she is about, the unfavorable numbers would be MUCH higher.
