Yeah, it's safe. He's singing about how good salsa music is, etc. While there is no direct translation for the word "chevere," it generally means, "It's good," or "It's wonderful," "It feels good," etc.
However, this type of salsa is what I refer to as "vanilla salsa." While there is not a direct linkage I kinda draw the following parallel: The Boston Pops trying to do "Dave Brubeck" or "Led Zep".....just doesn't quite cut it, if you know what I mean. Not enough rhythm, brass, percussion, not hard-driving enough, etc and kind of "plain Jane" kinda stuff.....not like the "power salsa" I have.....just can't post it because I record at 320 K and file sizes are too big with little webspace available to me.
I have uploaded a few to StarCMC but I always feel like I am imposing and inconveniencing her for music that is not very popular in the Canteen. Seems like a wasted effort.
