No they don't. All who believe this are as stupid as the liberal left think they are. They KNOW the statistics. They just do not want you to pay attention to the statistics.

This is NOT about gun violence or crime or anything else but to get guns out of the hands of the average citizen. Guns in the hands of anyone other than the government scares them.

They know that they can not force us into complying with their liberal ideas on how we should live our lives here in THEIR world. They know best how to run things and who should be in control (them).

Even the liberal/pc/un crowd don't believe it is about preventing or protecting anything or anyone. They know it is about preventing an armed citizenry from thwarting their plans for the world.

Nothing else.

Actually, I quite agree with you. I was addressing a certain number of people who have a sincere though dangerously naive and misguided view of the issue.

You have very clearly defined the over-all liberal agenda on another level. It is the pawns in their great socialist movement who have been duped into thinking "it's the guns, stupid." What Marx called the "ruling elite" do, inded, as you very accurately state, know that isnt the issue at all - and that the subjugation of the masses via disarming them so they cannot resist the oppression. There is a naive mass of more petty politicians and citizenry who really believe the propaganda that a "no firearms" policy is the way to a kinder society, but they are the simplistic foot soldiers being used by our would be totalitarians.
