Big bang near Crocker Galleria in SF, Post St. closed down, smell of gunpowder.
FReepers from certain areas of the country tend to live down to the stereotypes Hollywood has created of them.
We heard the same.
Thanks.
I remember a Simpsons episode where Bart was instructing the fat kid how to be cool, and he was saying "you GOTTA sit in the back of the class because then, nobody can see what you're *doin!*"
Was Barry Bonds mixing up a new batch of flaxseed oil?
probably the only story they'll ever give.
Really, lighten up. If every news story about an explosion in a city gets you this tense, you're going to suffer health problems.
The humor you see on this list is a tension reliever. For you to suggest we are making fun of the plight of ANYONE hurt by this is absurd. YOU, not others, are misinterpreting the ebb and flow of information on this thread.
They're just making sure. It would be an odd target to bomb, when the bomber could walk undetected right into the BART station a block away, ride an eastbound into the Transbay Tube, and wreak immense economic damage with a few pounds of C4.
they are showing some dude with his camcord....
telling everyone it was a bomb....
all is well says the MSM
probably ... kinda like the plane crash in jersey ... somthing fishy about that.
PolyChlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) are mixtures of synthetic organic chemicals that were produced in the U.S. between the 1920s and the 1970s. They were used extensively in electrical equipment, especially transformers and capacitors, because of their electrical insulating properties and non-flammability. Responding to environmental concerns raised about PCBs, manufacturers in 1979 stopped making electrical equipment that required PCB insulation.
No one thinks its funny that a woman was injured. What causes the humor to kick in is the irony of a "manhole" "Cover" being "Blown" causing an "explosion" in "San Francisco."
It's not terrorism despite what the man behind the curtain says. It was an accident. There is humor to be found in the wording associated with the incident.
If you really can't handle the dripping sarcasm found on this thread, I would suggest you avoid it for the time being.
Well, I guess my last two post really says something about me when I was young, huh...
Then you obviously agree with Hollywood. Which areas of the country do you think are prone to have sub-par Freepers?
No. Inside the building they told us it was a bomb. It was the NY Times and CNN which were pushing the transformer story. I even tried to call CNN to tell them they were wrong and they said they already heard what I had to tell them. So IMHO they deliberately pushed the false transformer story.
It's never too early for humor; the world-savers and the un-doers will be the ruin of us yet.
Buncha nervous nellies on this thread.
Well at least they didn't switch over to Sheehan or the Aruba story.
The guy with the 'corder is saying it was a bomb? Does he sound like a kook or does he know something not being reported?
Hope no one lit up a cigarette.
This guy must surf analporn between wisecracks on FR!
