Missile in the headline - rockets in the air. There is a difference, but I can't expect AP to know the difference.

Gee... why? We are not in a war! If we just left Afganistan and Iraq all this would end according to Cindy. Why don't her words have any influence?

So can a bullet from a gun - but when we're talking military hardware, there's a world (and accuracy) of difference.

The US navy vessel USS Kearsage, an amphibious assault ship, leaves the Jordanian port of Aqaba, Friday Aug. 19, 2005, after unknown attackers fired at least three missiles, killing a Jordanian sailor. The missiles were believed to have been fired from a neighbourhood on the outskirts of Aqaba, with one landing near an airport in neighbouring Israel. The Kearsage and the USS Ashland, a dock landing ship, left the port following the attack.(AP Photo/Abrahan Farajyan)

"I heard a noise, the car shook, and I kept driving for two more meters (yards)," said Israeli cab driver Meir Farhan, 40, who suffered mild wounds. "I didn't realize what it was, (but) when I went out of the car I saw a hole in the ground on the asphalt." An open miracle.

It was the most serious militant attack on the Navy since the USS Cole was bombed in 2000"Militant", not "terrorist". Nice, antiseptic distinction, that.
These rockets can do damage, but are very unlikely to sink a warship.

I'm leaning toward chemicals.
That way the oil will still be accessible after the pseudo life forms are gone.

Time to start leaving the CIWS on and in "sector defense mode" when our ships visit a foreign port.

How much damage can these things do? Enough to put a hole in a ship?
