Seems the Dems enjoy the high prices.

Well .. it's going to be pretty difficult because it's been the democrats who have blocked the President's energy plan since the first year he was in office. Had they helped AMERICA by committing to the energy plan THEN .. we might have seen some relief already.

THIS IS A NO WIN FOR THE DEMS.

Dems and their enviro wacko supporters are in a large way responsible for the current gasoline prices.

That being said it would be nice to see the strategic oil reserve opened up, and the federal gasoline tax temporarily suspended.

Otherwise the dems are free to point the finger at the Repubs and say, "you aren't doing anything to help."

The news from Iraq isn't brightening the public mood. Throw in resentment of high gasoline prices, topped perhaps by a resulting weak economy, and it could be a rough election year for incumbents of the governing party. That's exactly what Democrats want.

I couldn't have said it better.

If the Dems don't like high gas prices, then why have they been pushing them higher by blocking the energy bill and drilling in ANWR?

How long has it been since a new refinery was built in the USA?

Why?

Who decided the EPA should demand "designer" gasoline blends specific to different parts of the country? While at the same time preventing the expansion of refining capacity?

Who is opposed to drilling in ANWAR?

Who is opposed to extending the oil leases off the Kali coast?

Who is preventing oil drilling off the coast of Florida?

Who is preventing new drilling off the coast of Texas?

Who has opposed windmill farms off the coast of Massachusetts?

There is one answer to all these questions. And they are mainly to blame for the high oil prices and the current shortage.

These questions and the single answer can effectively blunt the attack against the Republicans.

I wonder how long it will take for 'the media' to point out to their face, Dems fought tooth and nail to get ALL references to Anwar Drilling removed from the energy bill just recently.

What do they think.... we'll wave a magic wand, say 'algore' and POOF... gas is cheaper?!?

This is a real issue that can be exploited. Better to be prepared.

A typical democrat response: look to the government to solve the problem. Who was it that stopped refinery construction? who was it that prevented oil exploration?
Who is it that denies the fact that oil is the most efficient energy source? The democrats and their wacko
socialist/communist friends.

The only thing the Republicans have to do, is to point out that Democrats have prevented oil drilling for 30 years.

the dems should have a landslide in 2006.

There is only one problem. They don't have any ideas to fix any problem, large or small. They also have bad candidates.

In 1994, the republicans fielded good candidates and had ideas that made sense to people.

Look for 2006 to be nearly a draw with the Pubs eeking out another narrow win.

The Dimos and enviriacs are responsible as well as peanut Jimmy and Billy Jeff for all of the insane energy policies they have promoted for the last 30 years.

Their problem is they have to fill the gas tanks on their SUVs' with the costly fuel they gave birth to and it hurts.

Lower the taxes on gasoline, allow drilling in ANWAR and offshore, build more refineries, and quit making fuel tailored for each area or state. We do need to keep looking for alternative energy, build more atomic reactors, keep up the research into hybrids and so on. I don't think the hydrogen economy will work though, but I think we need to do a lot of these things.

"Bush does nothing to combat rising prices," the Democratic National Committee said this week"

Great. Let's get Anwar online and begin off shore drilling off Santa Monica.
