"The commission's refusal to investigate Able Danger after being notified of its existence, and its recent efforts to feign ignorance of the project while blaming others for supposedly withholding information on it, brings shame on the commissioners, and is evocative of the worst tendencies in the federal government that the commission worked to expose," Weldon added.

Go Weldon!
To: AmericanDave
"The impetus for this letter is my extreme disappointment in the recent, and false, claim of the 9/11 commission staff that the commission was never given access to any information on Able Danger," Weldon wrote to former Chairman Gov. Thomas Kean (search) and Vice-Chairman Rep. Lee Hamilton (search). "The 9/11 commission staff received not one but two briefings on Able Danger from former team members, yet did not pursue the matter.

This story is getting very little attention from the liberal MSM. If mentioned at all it's buried back on page 5.
This story should be a natural for a forum like "60 Minutes" but don't hold your breath.

The "commission" must be convinced they have nothing to fear.

This story is getting very little attention from the liberal MSM. That's okay--the MSM is getting little attention itself these days. ;)

Interesting how a couple of "renegade" congressmen are now starting to drive the U.S. political agenda (because the vast majority want to remain ostriches or not offend anyone): Weldon on defense and Tancredo on immigration.
As much as I think Bush is a great president, I think he has lost a lot of his leadership credibility on these issues, especially immigration---but terrorism is definitely related---and politics, like nature, abhors a vacuum.

The clown comission needs to be taken down...The libs had their favorite butt boy Richard Ben-Veniste, and clintonista Jamie S. Gorelick. All this to make sure that the clintons came away unscathed and run the witch (hildabeast) in 2008 to sink America. Now that we have real people, presenting the facts, the comission is running away, like cock roaches fleeing when the light comes on in a cheap motel room.
I can hear the libs eating each other as they slip further from power...

Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer was interview on H&C last night and anorexic Alan had some ready made "stalking points" given to him by some one, we don't know by whom.
Evidently the rats claim by Mafioso Benveniste and others that they had never been told about "Able Danger" is not passing muster so guess what they are doing now, their time tested old saw, blaming it on GW!! How unique!!
Last night Colmes asked Shaffer why GW did not respond to at least 6 different intel communiques about able danger or terrorists getting ready to fly planes.
At least we know or have an idea what track they will take from now on. Alan forgot to mention GW was only in office for 7 months compared to 8 year for bubba, but then they don't want to hear that.
It's getting interesting.

They are not going down unless there is actual proof - paper trail. Right now they appear to be secure, although hillry has been very quite past couple of weeks.
I expect some shrill from her any day now.

The Person Weldon should go after is the jerk in charge - that bloated limousine liberal, that egregious northeastern RINO, that contemptible anit-Conservative pseudo-Republican, Tom Kean, the Chairman of the Committee.
His arrogance overcomes all decency.

When this old lying/liberal/socialist media is this biased against truth and against America, it's over. And I mean it. The new alternative media is not going to be able to straighten things out in time.

I agree. Kean was the a-hole who turned the complaint of Gorelick being on the commission into some personal attack on her. He changed the subject from her involvement in the Clinton administration into how she was such a great public servant and hard worker. This guy needs to be investigated for a cover up.

For a 'Commision' that pleaded to not be 'closed-down'... and to be made 'on-going'(it's still holding 'seminars' on how Bush f_cked-up)... this 'Commision' is acting verrrry peculiar.

Wonder what would happen if we bombarded CBS with mails and phone calls asking them why they will not run this story?

Isn't that the truth. Must be daubing their walls and putting on a new coat of whitewash.

Kean is a Rockefeller Republican on the make with apolitical agenda of his own.
The very week before the last Presidential election, this ostensible "Republican" gave a speech which given wide coverage in the New Jersey Press in which he stated that the 9-11 attack occurred because the government failed - the implication was it was Bush's fault.
When Bush I ran for re-election, TOm Kean was still El Presidente of Drew University, a liberal Methodist College I believe, and he allowed his "old friend" slimy Bill Clinton, to come on campus and address the student body.
Tom Kean doens't support the Second Amendment, but he DOES support "reparations" for slavery. Nobody in New Jersey ever talks the way this pompous windbag does. For the life of me, I can't figure out where he got that irritating, phoney accent - maybe in the elitist finishing school that he and other limousine liberals attend when their nannies can't take care of them anymore.
He has a son who is rising in the ranks of New Jersey politics - probably just as much a Rino as his father.
This guy is a REAL loser. I hope he never winds up in national office and for the life of me I can't understand why Bush chose him for this position, knowing the kind of perfidious record he has.
