``I was searching for a religion that made me feel comfortable,'' he said. Like C. S. Lewis said, if that's what you want then you might as well just get a good bottle of port wine.

Pagans are coming out of the closet. Abortion, sodomy, murder, theft, rape----I didn't know they were in "the closet."

``Some people, especially among mainstream religions, feel threatened by us.'' Why is it that everyone who disagrees with something is "threatened" by it?
This guy was obviously "threatened" by Christianity. It made him uncomfortable, restrained his free will, and essentially made a demand or two on his life.

``People think paganism is evil,'' said Robert Crom, regional coordinator for Pasco Pagans. ``Some people, especially among mainstream religions, feel threatened by us.''
What a perfect opportunity to tell everyone that it isn't evil.
Since he didn't what must we conclude.
After years of being labeled as devil worshippers who sacrifice animals under a full moon, the modern-day followers of ancient beliefs want to be part of the community.
Yeah, cause those old hebrews in the bible never sacrificed animals...

Local religious leaders, unaware of the pride event, said they don't object to the pagan gathering, as long as it doesn't involve Satanic worship. And if it did, what business is it of yours? Live and let live.

Maybe they can get a contract to finish off all the little beasties PETA doesn't want in their shelters. Kind of a win-win deal...
Oh. My bad. The PETA guys are probly pagans to begin with...

It's interesting that most pagans I know follow the recently invented "Nature" religions - few have picked the Greek and Roman religions as they were historically, particularly Roman that stress honor, duty, family, and a very orderly society.

Remember folks, that all of us have Pagan ancestors. I personally don't see what the big deal is myself.
Christians have got to realize that they aren't the only game in town.

``We'll call somewhere like the local humane shelter, offering to donate our time or money,'' Crom said. ``They'll tell us they don't want anything to do with us.'' I wonder if the animal sacrifice rituals they engage in have anything to do with the attitude of the humane shelter folks?

This reminds me of that 80s movie "Dragnet" ... especially the scene where Hanks and Akroid's characters infiltrate P.A.G.A.N.'s attempted ritual sacrifice of the Virgin Connie Swail.
