It's simple. He was too busy paying attention to the interns to bother with complex things like terrorism.
Why did he ignore Terroism?
Blackmail; and there was plenty of stuff to use on him. Character really does count.

Talk-show host Tom Scott of Clear Channel Broadcasting, New Haven (WELI 960) asked Shays about the mysterious impeachment "evidence room," prompting the GOP moderate to say that Broaddrick "disclosed that she had been raped, not once, but twice" to Judiciary Committee investigators. Shays, who is often hailed by the New York Times for his independent judgment and good sense, found the evidence compelling: "I believed that he had done it. I believed her that she had been raped 20 years ago. And it was vicious rapes, it was twice at the same event." Asked point blank if the president is a rapist, Shays said, "I would like not to say that it way. But the bottom line is that I believe that he did rape Broaddrick." HEAR CHRISTOPHER SHAYS The rape took place while Bill was running for governor. Hillary came bursting into the room to talk to two people, one of whom I personally know. She said "You won't believe what this [expletive] did now. He tried to rape some b*tch."

"Who is Juanita Broaddrick? I've never heard of her!" cried Betty Friedan, the founder of modern feminism. Friedan's outburst came at last Friday's conference, entitled "The Legacy and Future of Hillary Rodham Clinton." Held at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington. D.C., the event offered a chilling microcosm of an angry, divided America. Was Friedan telling the truth? Maybe. And maybe all those millions of Germans who professed ignorance of the death camps were telling the truth too. The problem is, having admitted her ignorance, Friedan showed no interest in exploring the matter further. And that was the problem with the Germans too. Totalitarian impulses flourished at the conference. Taking a page from Soviet psychiatry, some Clintonites suggested that Hillary hating might be a mental illness. Richard Poe [Hillary Clinton] began by insisting that the entire Middle East region work to socially and politically enfranchise women. "Human rights are women's rights," she said. Though some Middle Eastern nations have taken small steps in the right direction, Clinton said women and girls are consistently marginalized in all aspects of society. "When we look at the political, economic and strategic position in the Middle East today, it's obvious that progress cannot be made if there is an unwillingness to include half the population of these countries," she said. Clinton described herself as "one of the early voices speaking out against the treatment of women by the Taliban in the 1990s...." Clinton recommends U.S. foreign policy shift "Gay marriage was an overwhelming factor in the defeat of John Kerry... With one decision of one Supreme Court, all of a sudden we have a constitutional amendment designed, I think, to whip people up, to inflame them, make them stop thinking about other issues, [the result of which was] "an astonishing turnout among evangelical Christians who were voting on the basis of moral values.... I do not believe either party has a monopoly on morality or truth."

The Real Danger of a Fake President: by Mia T, 1.06.02 The Placebo President:
To wit: A proven felon and utter reprobate can remain president; clinton can be a failed human being but a good president. The error in these statements arises, says Steele, from the belief that virtuousness is separate from personal responsibility so that one's virtuousness as an individual is determined by one's political positions on issues rather than on whether or not in one's personal life there is a consistency and a responsibility. Steele's contention is that this compartmentalization, rather than being the amazing advantage the clintons would have us believe, in fact, spills toxicity into, corrupts, the culture. If mere identification with good policies is what makes one virtuous then those policies become, what Steele calls, iconographic, that is to say they just represent virtuousness. They don't necessarily do virtuous things. If clinton's semantic parsing strips meaning from our words, clinton's iconographic policies strip meaning from our society, systematically deconstructing our society as a democracy. . . I would take Shelby Steele's thesis one step further. I maintain that iconographic policy functions like a placebo, producing a real, physiological and social effects. The placebo effect is, after all, the brain's triumph over reality. Expectation alone can produce powerful physiological results. The placebo effect was, at one time, an evolutionary advantage: act now, think later bill clinton is the paradigmatic Placebo President. Placebo is Latin for "I shall please." And please he does doling out sham treatments, iconographs, with abandon. To please, to placate, to numb, to deflect. Ultimately to showcase his imagined virtue. Or to confute his genuine vice. clinton will dispense sugar pills (or bombs) at the drop of a high-heeled shoe... or at the hint of high treason... clinton's charlatanry mimics that of primitive medicine. Through the 1940s, doctors had little effective medicine to offer so they deliberately attempted to induce the placebo response. The efficaciousness of today's medicines does not diminish the power of the placebo. A recent review of placebo-controlled studies found that placebos and genuine treatments are often equally effective. If you expect to get better, you will. Which brings me back to the original question: Can clinton be a failed human being but a good president? Clearly he cannot. These two propositions are mutually exclusive. clinton's fundamental failure is a complete lack of integrity. He has violated his covenant with the American people. Because clinton has destroyed his moral authority as a leader, he can no longer function even as a quack; the placebo effect is gone. And so the Placebo President must now go, too. |

Carter and Clinton are two different peoples. Carter was weak, but somewhat honest, Clinton was strong and against the wrong people for the wrong reasons. The two holding the same office brought many problems to our citizens.
The last things that the liberals understand is federalism coupled with honesty and virtue. That will lead to a better nation. But they want a more powerful party, not a more powerful nation; so they heed the crafty advice of Machiavelli. They are a sad lot.

Clinton Lawyers Fretted Over Bin Laden's Comfort
The CIA's former Bin Laden desk chief revealed Thursday night that Clinton administration lawyers warned counterterrorism agents that Osama bin Laden had to be kept as comfortable as possible if they captured him during planned raids into Afghanistan.
"The lawyers were more concerned with bin Laden`s safety and his comfort than they were with the officers charged with capturing him," former Bin Laden desk chief Michael Scheuer told MSNBC's "Hardball. "We had to build an ergonomically designed chair to put him in, [for] special comfort in terms of how he was shackled into the chair," Scheuer explained. "They even worried about what kind of tape to gag him with so it wouldn`t irritate his beard."
"The lawyers are the bane of the intelligence community," the former CIA man lamented.
Concerns like that, as well as foot dragging by the White House, resulted in one missed opportunity after another to get the al Qaida terror mastermind, Scheuer said.
"We had at least eight to 10 chances to capture or kill Osama bin Laden in 1998 and 1999. And the government on all occasions decided that the information was not good enough to act," he claimed.
Although sharply critical of President Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq , the CIA counterterrorism specialist put the blame for bin Laden's escape firmly on Mr. Clinton.
"In terms of which administration had more chances, Mr. Clinton`s administration had far more chances to kill Osama bin Laden than Mr. Bush has until this day," Scheuer said.
Thanks for posting. The left hasn't a clue.
The ergonomic chair! and hypoallergenic beard-tape! for bin Laden were probably clinton feints. ;)
With visions of a Nobel Peace Prize dancing in the clintons' (so to speak) collective head, clinton's feckless tactics and heads up to the terrorist all but ensured that bin Laden would be home free.
In Clinton's final report to the nation on national security titled "A NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY FOR A GLOBAL AGE THE -- WHITE HOUSE DECEMBER 2000", (45,000 words strong), al-Qaeda was not mentioned one time, yet we are being told Clinton took al-Qaeda seriously!
The very first sentence of that report in the preface stated the following:
Bill Clinton: "As we enter the new millennium, we are blessed to be citizens of a country enjoying record prosperity, with no deep divisions at home, no overriding external threats abroad, and history's most powerful military ready to defend our interests around the world.
Chalk up another KEY fact that never made it inot the 911 Report.
Thank you very much for posting this very important information.
Bill Clinton claimed to be obsessed with UBL. For eight long years, Clinton was the most powerful man on the planet. Had he been obsessed, UBL would've been toast in 1993.
