Stockholm, August 18: A waitress in Sweden thought her elderly customer was joking when he offered her his Porsche as a tip, but he kept his word and gave her the keys to the car, daily Aftonbladet reported on Thursday.
I thought at first he was joking with me, 19-year-old Josefin Justin told the paper.
Justin was waiting tables at the Njuraanger cafe in sundsvall in Central Sweden when the man, who had recently retired and was dining with a group of gentlemen, asked her age.
When she told him, he said I would get his Porsche as a tip.
At first I was a little suspicious but I didnt get the feeling he was hitting on me or anything, he just seemed really nice, she said.
She got his phone number and the next day when she called him, he said he remembered his generous offer. Accompanied by her father, she went to the mans house to pick up her new car.
It turned out to be 1979 Porsche 924 worth 4,000 dollars.
It needs a little work, a paint job among other things, but we checked it out and everything was fine, Justin said.
The man, who asked to remain anonymous, told the paper he could not really explain why he gave her the car.
I was just sitting there in the restaurant and looked her in the eyes and saw an angel and thought to myself the Porsche, she should have it, he said.
Asked if he had any regrets, he replied, no, absolutely not.
I GOTTA see a picture of this waitress. No meal is worth that kind of tip...she has to be amazingly hot and this guy's trying to be her sugar daddy.
I want to see the smile on her face when the Socialist's slap a tax on her for it.
Enjoy it!
I think that's really cute!
Depends on how much you have. If I had money coming out of my ears, I'd probably do something like this once in while myself, just for fun. It's kind of cool making somebody's whole week.
It was a Hooters...wasn't it?
They are substantially overvaluing that piece of crap car. I had two of them in the late '70s. PIECE OF CRAP. By the time she realizes how much she has spent keeping it on the road, she is going to realize that the guy stiffed her on the tip.
Bet me too it. And the will, you know.
Ahhhh,
what a sweet story!
The kind of person that has the personality to earn a lot of money would not likely give away something that didn't benefit them in any way. Rich people are usually the worst tippers and the stingiest of people... and yeah I know a lot of wealthy people personally.
Well, she's cute (as most Swede girls are) but not all THAT cute. The first daughters are cuter.
"Ah ha! It says here that the only way to get rid of a demonically-possessed car is to give it away!"
But very few poor people tip in Porsches.
The guy probably owns the only Porsche repair shop within a hundred miles and goes around giving out Porsches knowing that they will spend more time in his shop than with the owners.
Cast your bread upon the waters and the Porschses will return ten fold.
Let's see, clapped out, sixteen year old Porsche from a dead model line, for free, I'd have to think about that offer. It probably only needs about $10,000 in parts to make it drivable.
