Porous border frustrates states

Frustration is rising along the Southwest border.
Angered by unending waves of illegal immigration, some Americans have taken matters into their own hands by forming "Minuteman" patrols that they plan to expand from Arizona to Texas this fall.
A Houston congressman is pushing for creation of militias of armed volunteers to augment Border Patrol forces. Gov. Rick Perry is mulling a border neighborhood watch-style program.
And in recent days, the governors of Arizona and New Mexico fed up with the failure of the federal government to control the border have declared state emergencies in counties struggling with rising immigrant smuggling and violence.
"It's a scream for help from Congress," said Frank Sharry, head of the National Immigration Forum, an immigrant advocacy group lobbying for an immigration overhaul. "They are basically pounding the table and saying, 'Do something.' "
While Washington policy-makers are definitely attuned to the growing public anxiety over border security and illegal immigration, they're far from achieving consensus on the proper remedy.

I rarely agree with Bayourod, but check crime statistics, Crime has come down over the past 15 years. Go to DOJ.gov for more info.

Problems caused by California's socialist laws aren't President Bush's fault, they are the fault of California conservatives who have taken an "all or nothing" position the last two decades and ended up with nothing. They don't even take a tough stand of illegal immigrants. You're not fooling anybody. California is a blue state because the majority of the population is liberal, not because of any issue the republican may take on immigration (if they had a tough stance, they'd have a bigger minority.)
Fifty years from now when illegal aliens make up a huge minority of the population and few if any vote republican, when the republican party becomes a permanent minority, the future republican party can look back and blame people like you, whose "brilliant" plan on getting hispanic votes didn't quite work out the way your kind had planned. It will be our downfall.

Well don't start now.
Violent crime might continue to decline while the percentage committed by Illegals continues to climb.

President Bush himself has aided and abetted an invasion amidst a so-called "War on Terror."
Anyway that's what we're led to believe at best.
At worst, he's a puppet just following orders from the minions of the New World Order which help further facilitate obliterating any semblance of U.S. sovereignty .

"Because the California I see everyday is crime ridden, jails are full etc etc.... " Urban myths.
California's Crime Rate Is at a 35-Year Low I've posted that link a dozen times and still people challenge me.
A year ago there were a dozen anti-illegals myths that have all been shot down. Most of the antis don't even bother trying to defend them anymore, they just hurl personal insults at me.
Watch the replies to this post and see how many times the response of the antis will be to call me a traitor or something else instead of trying to respond with a substantive point.
I can't wait until the Presidential primary debates when Tancredo is refuted by facts and he responds by calling the other candidates quislings or something equally childish.

I rarely agree with Bayourod, but check crime statistics, Crime has come down over the past 15 years. That might be true overall. However, whenever there has been a post about the rising hispanic population of a city or area in the U.S. I have checke the stats of that city. They have generally gone up or stayed the same.

And ILLEGAL immigration would have to do with a decrease in crime....how?Well, its not because of the influence on our society of law abiding gardeners & day workers.
The Three Strikes law, passed through the efforts of those unappeasable california conservatives, is the only reason crime has been dropping in CA.
Imagine how low the crime stats would be if those 30% illegal aliens currently serving sentences in state prisons weren't here to commit their crimes?

So, should we take this to mean that you are admitting to being pro-illegal immigration?

Another example:
Greensboro, North Carolina. It's no secret the Triad's Hispanic population is growing. But recent census numbers show it's growing faster than you may think - third-fastest of anywhere in the nation, first when only the largest regions are considered....
The 2000 Census counted 62,210, a nine-fold increase.
Greensboro Crime Report Look at the charts. In most categories the rates are higher than the national average.
It's really hard sometimes to get the rates. Most of these communities try to hide any rise in crime for fear of people not coming there or those that are there already might leave.

Sounds like what happened in the northeast and midwest when the blacks came up from the south. Nevertheless, NYC has experience several waves of Hispanic immigration, with crime only increasing from the 1950s through the 1980s. The Mexicans only started arriving in the 1990s and crime has gone down.
The communities you cited are typically those with aging populations that lacked a "youthful element" until the Mexicans/Central Americans came along. Scranton, Norristown, and Hazleton Pennsylvania were virtually open-air senior citizen centers as young Americans had no desire to live there. Now all of these communities have Mexicans and youth gangs.

My Reply:
The lies that spew from Bayourod's mouth never cease to amaze me...so you guessed it, it's that time again. Time for Bayourod's daily beat down!!
Bayourod cites some stupid study that claims that the crime rate is lower. Does that address illegal aliens? Nope!
In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.
A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.
The leadership of the Columbia Lil Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.

Testimony of District Attorney John M. Morganelli before the House Subcommittee on immigration, Border, Security and Claims. "Unfortunately, the majority of illegal aliens who are here are engaged in criminal activity. Identity theft, use of fraudulent social security numbers and green cards, tax evasion, driving without licenses represent some of the crimes that are engaged in by the majority of illegal aliens on a daily basis merely to maintain and hide their illegal status.
In addition, violent crime and drug distribution and possession is also prevalent among illegal aliens. Over 25% of today's federal prison population are illegal aliens. In some areas of the country, 12% of felonies, 25% of burglaries and 34% of thefts are committed by illegal aliens." Source: http://www.house.gov/judiciary/morganelli100103.htm

Study: Illegal aliens drain county funds, by Lisa Wahla, Antelope Valley Press December 26, 2000.
"Almost one-fourth of county jail inmates are subject to deportation, a population costing Los Angeles taxpayers more than $150 million a year, the Sheriff's Department reported. The recently released study found that 23% of county inmates fall under the "deportable criminal alien" category, which includes illegal immigrants and legal immigrants who have committed serious crimes and therefore lost their legal status...
Another key problem for the county, according to the Sheriff's Department report, is the high rate of recidivism for criminal illegal residents.
Forty-five percent of criminal illegal immigrants are re-arrested after their release, with more than 80% of those offenses occurring in L.A. County, said Bob Mimura, head of the countywide criminal justice coordinating committee."

A troubling trend: Hispanics and DWI
"...Austin's statistics are not unique.
In California, 48 percent of drunken driving arrests in 2001 were of Latino men, according to that state's Department of Motor Vehicles. Figures from 2002 were not available.
Latinos make up roughly 21 percent of the California driving population.
'The profile of a drunk driver in California is a young Hispanic male, and I bet you have a similar situation all over the Southwest,' UT's Caetano said."

If you notice many of his latest talking points will contradict some of his earlier statements that he repeated ad nauseam without any facts to back them up. The man has got to be on the payroll of some organization to be as relentless as he is.
