According to the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center at the Center for Special Studies (C.S.S) many celebrations of Israeli retreat are being organized by the Palestinian Authority, but numerous terror organizations are holding their own, separate celebrations.
According to the report, the terror groups are awarding themselves and their terrorist activities the prize for having brought about the evacuation of the Israeli settlements.
The report says that while PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas is speaking about further withdrawals through negotiations, both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad are reiterating that they have no intention of disarming, that their weapons are legal and that they intend to continue armed attacks until the total liberation of all Palestine.
We have no choice but to prepare for new rounds of the confrontation to liberate our lands and take back our Jerusalem and our rights, Hamas chief Khaled Mashal said in an interview broadcast by Al-Aalam TV on Monday. Speaking to the London-based al-Hayat newspaper, Mashaal said the withdrawal is the beginning of the end for Israel.
Last Sunday, Islamic Jihad held a victory procession in Gaza, featuring armed, masked terrorists lauded as heroic liberators of Gaza. The group said it will hold a naval military show on the Gaza beach on Wednesday, in preparation for the opening of a PA seaport in Gaza exempt from Israeli counter-terror monitoring.
Hamas also held a large celebratory rally attended by masked, armed terrorists on Tuesday in Khan Yunis.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) also claimed to have brought about the Jewish retreat, holding a celebration procession in the streets of Khan Yunis attended by armed terrorists waving rockets.
Despite assurances that the disengagement would not be carried out under fire, the withdrawal and expulsion has continued despite several shooting attacks and the firing of three rockets on Gush Katif and central Gaza Jewish communities in recent days.
According to the C.S.S. report, the PA has not taken any steps to put an end to the shootings.
Your point about the Palestinians is very well taken. Great post.
Hey bill...yup, I think they're on it!
The other day I heard a news blurb on FOX. It seems UN funds earmarked for humanitarian (I think) causes were helping fund a Palestinian group whose stated goals are to get Israel out of Gaza and the the Middle East (paraphrased)
I missed to scheduled news conference & heard no more about it
Today is a sad day. We were listening on XM. I explained the situation to my 24 year old (including how Israel came by that land) and he got it.
I'm glad I was in the car. The audio was heartbreaking, the video would have been too much to bear.
It was very difficult to watch. Jews forcing Jews out of their homes....I'm having an awful lot of difficulty getting my head around this.
Oy! That was a showstopper.
The Mexicans would certainly agree!!
Perhaps a gentle rain of cluster bombs would dampen their ardor..
If only...
Some Christian/Jordanian friends of mine lost their home when Israel marched in and took homes and property in 1967. But although bitter and hurt, since they did not support the Palestinian terrorists, they only wanted to live in peace, they left with two suitcases each, and found their way to USA. They were broke, penniless, leaving behind a mansion they had earned and built, which was turned into an Israeli library. They got no money for it, and they were good Christian law abiding citizens. There are people hurt on both sides of this never ending war. But it is the Muslim extremist terrorist who is causing all the pain. Used to be that they were in the minority of the population there. Now it may be the majority if not all of them. Muslim extremist terrorists are the lunatic fringe of society!
Hamas has already said at the end of 05, the attacks begin full force AGAIN. DOESN'T ANYONE UNDERSTAND IN THE GOVS OF THE WORLD THAT THERE WILL NEVER BE ANY PEACE WITH THE ISLAMOFASCIST.
I, of course, feel for your Lebanese friends. As you say, there are people hurt on both sides. However, since about 80% of Muslims world wide agree with the concept of suicide bombings in Israel, and since the Arab world is compromised largely of Muslims, it is reasonable to assume that the enemy lies across the border from Israel.
I am also quite sure that there are Arabs who would like nothing more than to be left alone and find themselves between a rock and a hard place. And that is a tragic circumstance. However, again, since most Arabs/ Muslims would like nothing more than to see Israel wiped off the map, and since Israel stops thousands of attempted suicide bombings per year, it is reasonable that Israel view Arabs as potential enemies.
Arab/ Muslim terrorism is the norm. Muslim extremists are not on the fringes of society any longer. It is those who wish to be left alone in peace that now comprise the fringe of society.
I would suggest that your Lebanese friends were victims of Arab aggression towards Israel. Israel fought back and won. Your friends, unfortunately, were on the receiving end. I would further suggest that your friends look no further than the leaders of the Arab nations at the time who chose the path of war on Israel to find those responsible for their loss and displacement.
I sympathize with your friends. You're right. Unfortunately they were the victims of a war that they, probably, did not support. But such is war. Behind enemy lines, is the enemy. Your friends were the victims of the terrorists and the Arab leaders who decided to go to war. Sad situation.
Doesn't it seem interesting that it is not the "Christian right" that is bringing about the end but groups like Hamas. The question is how long before we see the charismatic world ruler? Something has to occur to make the fragile peace process shatter so the world sees the U.S. cannot fix the problem. Then comes the one who "Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all." Dan. 11:37. He will bring a pseudo-peace to the Middle East Conflict. He will lay low for 3 1/2 years and then demand world-wide worship of himself at the point of death. That is where this all headed.
Israelis are being very hard on their own to make this possible. If the Palis think they have intimidated them they are making a very big mistake. The Israeli retaliation can now be aimed at Gaza as an aggressor state if there is a return to the infatata... "Chicago rules" in effect and now they know where their enemies live.

I as well.."Praise the Lord and blast them to perdition.."

What about the possibility of an alternative?
What if the foreign policy establishment of the United States- which always find common ground with the UN, EU and the rest- has simply decided that the existence of Israel is too much trouble for the World. That its destruction will bring a hundred years of peace with the Islamic World. Time enough to develop alternative energy sources.
