Do you know the facts behind Israel's pullout from the region?
With Israel's withdrawal from Gaza beginning soon, media outlets are turning out dozens of reports on the tensions involved. But amidst the drama, the essential facts behind Israel's painful sacrifice are often lost.
To address this knowledge gap and expand public awareness of what's happening, HonestReporting produced an educational online quiz. How does your knowledge stack up? Click here to find out.
I got a 5 outta 9.
I did not expect to have to know numbers.
5 is a pretty good score! You did better than I did ....
4/9. All of it guessing.
It's interesting. They never ask how much Israel paid the settlers to live there.
But amidst the drama, the essential facts behind Israel's painful sacrifice are often lost.
Sure maybe people don't know the numbers, but what is the premise of this? I hope you're not saying the MSM isn't portraying the withdrawal as a painful sacrifice, because, to be honest, they are.
I got 5 too.
Right now, the only thing that the Palestinians export is dust and violence. The settlements export $120 million in produce. This makes Dahlan's statement all the more inexplicable and stupid, frankly.
Live there? Or leave there?
9 out of 9 right ... on second try :<) ... 5-9 first try
Pray for Jerusalem, Pray for Israel and the Jewish people.
2nd try???? 1st try was a dry run, huh?
BTTT
I was fortunate to get 5 right. Don't feel to bad.
6 out of 9 but I guessed at more than half.
6 out of 9.
I will admit I guessed on three however.
Surprised myself..
Or how much the israeli government is paying the settlers to move back to Israel proper.
Nefesh'b'nefesh is behind most of this. Costing Israelis in the billions.
I do see this as a quite unfortunate situation since the Arabs are now expecting the Israelis to move out of the rest of the west bank and east j'lem.
Never going to happen.
Practical zionism should've had a contingency plan from the beginning to dealing with these Arab migrant workers back in the 1900's-1940's whom now call themselves Palestinians.....
Palestinians are not going to bulldoze anything. The settlements will remain closed off for a month so as to let the demolitions and clean-up of the area be completed.
The settlers settled the area when they were just sand dunes, going to leave them as sand dunes. Well, except the agricultural sites which the world bank bought and are going to sell/give-away to the arabs over the next few months.
