Honestly one could blame Bush for this whole mess. I REALLY don't believe that they would have forced these people out had the United States not pressured it. Israel is asking the United States for 2 BILLION more dollars to help with moving these people. Each person is getting 100-300,000 dollars (and some are getting more than that) to relocate.

I don't understand the Bush policy at times when it comes to Israel. I guess we will see if this brings peace to the region. I really don't think these people are going to stop with just the Gaza. They do have the goal (some of them...not the majority) to take more than this.

Time will tell.

Do others believe that the Bush Administration had a lot to do with this? I voted for Bush by the way and support most of the war efforts.

Yeah, I don't understand that part either. It's not like they have arable land to spare. Actually Gaza wasn't arable, they grew in greenhouses.

There is some scripture that indicates Israel will face desolation for her worldliness as well, though:

Lam 1:1 How doth the city sit solitary, [that was] full of people! [how] is she become as a widow! she [that was] great among the nations, [and] princess among the provinces, [how] is she become tributary!

Lam 1:2 She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears [are] on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort [her]: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.

Lam 1:7 Jerusalem remembered in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell into the hand of the enemy, and none did help her: the adversaries saw her, [and] did mock at her sabbaths.

Lam 1:12 [Is it] nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted [me] in the day of his fierce anger.

I voted for Booosh. And now I oppose almost everything he is doing on almost every front including Iraq. But I'll never feel I wasted my vote keeping that goombah sKerry out of there. Some choice we had.

Curbing his radicals.

You mean the ones he has invited to join his government? The "political arm" of Hamas?

Or do you consider the "collaborators" to be the "radicals"? Those are the only people the PA is now or has ever been concerned about.

Blame Bush? So Bush is responsible for the Knesset passing the Pullout as Israeli law? Nice try. The Pullout is supported by the majority of Israeli's, the knesset and the IDF.

Oh spare me. I never said that the President's first duty was to any nation other than America, and you know it. And further, if you read this newbie's posts in the thread, HE never said "America's first duty is to America".

Clearly, my reference to his anti-semitism had nothing to do with anything except his blatant anti-semitism. I suggested he simply own it. Period.

Thanks for leading me to this thread---I knew I was in the wrong place....there were so many posts yesterday...

Ah, well, I am here now...and in "answer" to your post...I would say America is in deep doo-doo if the Scriptures are correct...

I am still very puzzled by Sharon's actions, and Bush's endorsement...

Gee Eric--it seems that all Go Freedom's posts have disappeared. I didn't even get to read his response to me before it was yanked.

Proves my point, doesn't it. Ah, the sweet joy of vindication!

As if they ever needed justification. The Koran is all the justification they need.

GF never answered me either, when I asked a similar question. And now he appears to have met a viking kitty along his journey--as I predicted he would. I hope, though, that he is still lurking--and experiencing much frustration at not being able to voice his hate. Have a blessed day, Brad's Gramma!

Jewish settlers get gunned down all the time in the west bank and you never hear about it.

I was talking about this to a co-worker of mine and he made the point that the Jews live with this threat day in and day out as you pointed out so we here really don't understand what they go through all the time. I was watching Foxnews this morning while eating breakfast and getting ready for work as they busted down the door live on TV and going in. There was this Jewish family, father, mother, 3 or 4 boys and maybe a daughter or two. The mother was crying and saying they've been there for 32 years after moving from America. My heart goes out to them, that is so dispicable to what Israel is doing to her own people, I never thought I would see this, I even had a tear in my eye. I was kind of surprised that I didn't see the settlers behind the door letting loose some 00 Buck from a shotgun. B-P I would not want to be among the film crew for Fox for fear that this would happen. I used to admire Sharon, but now, he is just being a two-faced jackass to keep it polite. We need Benjamin Netyanahu back. This just struck a chord with me, my great grandmother was a Russian Jew who had this happen to her at least twice by having villages burned out from under her during the pogroms.

Why not? Terrorism works.

It looks like they are proving Lt. Data from "Star Trek, The Next Generation" right. I remember Captain Picard did ask him something about terorrism and Data said that "it does work" citing the reunification of Ireland in 2026. I was hoping that Data was wrong, but as we see in Israel, he is being proven more right as each day goes on.

The Pullout is supported by the majority of Israeli's, the knesset and the IDF.

Last poll I saw the majority were against or "undecided" unless you are arguing that more pro-pullout than "against" and more then "undecided" means a "majority." Also, samples taken by different media sources show different demographics.

The last general election held in Israel, 67% of the voters voted for the anti-disengagement candidate, and only 33% for the pro-disengagement candidate.

If you enjoy the suffering of Jews who hold different political opinions and religious beliefs than you do, that's truly disgusting.

I know one thing...it is really sad to watch all of this on the news. The media rarely shows both sides though. The Palestinians have been treated just as badly before. There are no winners here.

Having just returned from Israel I find it hard to watch all of this. I know that the soldiers must hate this just as much as everyone else.

It will be VERY interesting to see what happens next.

I'm astonished by your post. I had always heard that the US military historically has been Israel's biggest backer in the executive branch. Are you sure that your cousin's husbank believes that this is a generalized feeling among senior US military, and not a personal issue with a few officers?

True.  But at least this way the MSM can justify is to their audience as proof of how the Bad Jews, and the US, pick on the poor widdle ROP.
