Oh, you're a Jew - then you're outta here! I can't believe this is happening to the Jews . . . again.

I'm guessing you're alluding to the Holocaust, where 6 million Jews (plus a few million others) were gassed, raped, shot, experimented on, etc? Whether this policy is right or not, I fail to see the equivalence between the Holocaust and the Jewish government relocating a few thousand of its own citizens further "inland" and -according to one poster here- compensating them monetarily.

You're being hysterical.

This conclusion gives top much dignity to the post I was replying to. And to yourself, since you are clearly a bad doctor.

And a bad thinker as well: Now, are you saying that there is no such thing as an innocent Palestinian?

No I did not. Read again, while breathing deeply or not.

Finally a voice of reason on this thread!! I thought I had wondered into DU with all the Pali sympathizers .

There's no such thing as an "innocent" Pali.

Wow, that's pretty sick. Does this include say, the newborn Palestinian infant?

I heard a caller (who identified himself as Jewish)to Michael Savage on Monday state that Sharon made a deal with leftists in Israel inorder to keep his son out of jail or to not be charged with some crime or other. And that this forcing the settlers out of Gaza was part of the deal. Savage indicated he had heard of this but did not elaborate.

Savage is a whackjob. I'd take anything he says with a heap of salt.

I firmly believe is that one goal is to destroy the COMMUNITY, community in terms of people not just their homes, that was built in Gaza. It's a leftists wet dream, and Sharon fell for it.

I think you're right, not so much because of the withdrawl, but the manner it was carried out in. These communities should have been assured of continuity in terms of the locations they're moved to, rather than dispersal.

You may NOT be able to see the connection.........YET. Sadly, I fear you will see it later on, sigh.

"This pullout will lead to more violence from the arabs, not less. Sharon knows that. That will lead to the loss of UN support for Palestinian terrorism and justify a new Israeli hard line policy."

How naive.

A bit of misplaced anger, for sure. A nut.

He'll be described by the MSM as a "terrorist" despite the fact that he acted alone, impulsively, and without any affiliation to a terrorist organization whatsoever.

...And Palestinian terrorists affilated with Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah whose acts of killing are premeditated will continue to be described not as terrorists, but as "militants."

Someone actually used the "nits make lice" argument in one of these threads recently. Unfortunately, we do have people who seem to think that way.

We don't know any of these things, including the affiliation. While Natan Zada did have terrorist affiliations, this guy may have kept his on the QT. And bided his time....

This pullout will lead to more violence from the arabs, not less. Sharon knows that. That will lead to the loss of UN support for Palestinian terrorism and justify a new Israeli hard line policy.

Israel has more than enough justification for a hard line policy without selling out it's own citizens and ruining their lives. Justification enough, on the basis of things like protecting it's right to exist as a nation, protecting it's citizens against murders, etc.

I guess I don't understand a government that knowingly adopts a policy that it understands will lead to more violence against it's citizens. The primary job of a legitimate government is to protect the lives of those who claim the title of citizen. As long as they obey the laws of the country and support it's government, they have the right to expect that, at minimum. Adopting a policy where you know you will be sacrificing the lives of innocent civilians in the hopes of attaining a "greater good" is questionable at best.

The evacuation of the West Bank is temporary.

Hope springs eternal. There were those who thought Hitler's takeover of Austria and Czechoslovakia was temporary, too. Once old Adolf had gotten his fill of Czech pastries and Austrian beer, he'd be satisfied, and maybe go back home to Berlin to digest it all. Unfortunately, it only increased his appetite for conquest, basically a resurrection of the old geopolitical concept of Lebensraum. One can see a similar dynamic at work in this case. One would think the Jews, of all people, would be sensitive to it.

"will to resist"
Israel has defeated combined armies of several Arab states in open fight several times over. But how long, do you think, can a tiny nation like that can withstand the pressure of terrorism and economic and political boycotts of the entire world. That the world is doing that is a different strory. G-d will be the judge of that. But until then the Israelis have to live and raise their kids today. Do you picture Israelites as Biblical heros and giants. They are pretyy scrawny people.

"I fail to see the equivalence between the Holocaust and the Jewish government relocating a few thousand of its own citizens further "inland"..."

The idea is rooted in the fact that Gaza is now to be Judenfrei, which was the basis of pre-WWII Germany's ethnic cleansing/persecution of the Jews.

Of course, if a Jew discusses expelling Arabs from Israel proper, the charges of engendering "apartheid" and "racism" from the world immediately follow.

In this context, the Holocaust comparison is appropriate. Because it is exactly what is happening.
