The illegal immigrant has nothing to lose by insidents such as this. If the heat gets to high, they can cross over the border back into Mexico.
It's also possible for them to obtain second, third, fourth, five... IDs so that they can circumvent justice and go on like nothing happened.
We really screwed the pooch when we allowed this situation to progress to where it has.
I do agree that illegal aliens need to be deported. However, NO ONE should have 5 DWIs and be loose on the streets. At what point do we admit that the person won't or can't follow the law and not drive under the influence? There are several people culpable in this one.
