Just wanted to let Freepers know that Larry Northern, the man that knocked down the crosses outside the Bush ranch, is a Purple Heart winner from Vietnam. He was wounded by shrapnel that hit his juglar vein. I think maybe he had enough of Shean. She brings back the worst of how our soldiers were treated after Vietnam.
I am not a legal expert so I can only speak from what I've learned through the years. I do not think we are allowed to destroy or vandalize something on public property. However, it has been pointed out that these crosses were placed there illegally, without proper approval from the governing authority in that area. That may have an impact on the outcome.
There are signs, crosses, and many other things posted on "public property". I would assume that if they are posted through legal means, then it would be illegal to vandalize them.
I'll leave those technicalities up to the professionals. I'm sure a fellow FReeper who is more knowledgeable will know the answer. The always seem to. :)
Thanks ... and good for you!
The laws are similar in the State of Arizona. That's why I said that Norman committed no crime and that it is likely that the charges will later be dropped. In fact it is Sheehan's traitor cabal that is committing the crimes. I just can't figure out why local law enforcement isn't busting them for what they're doing.
I'd like to know why that wasn't mentioned in the MSM reporting.
Fell out of the chair. Thanks.
: )
You keep rockin' it, TFYC!
Do I remember you from SBVT?
"If you burn a flag that is your OWN flag, that is one thing (although I cringe and am angered by anyone burning our flag). This man did not drive down his own "cross", he drove down the crosses that belonged to others."
You and leapfrog this point.
But the other one goes to the fact the display should have been removed. Private stuff on public property.
So they cancel each other out and the Vet goes home.
Dead sons and crosses do not give absolute authority to Mess with Texas.
It may have been a medical emergency. He may have been so blinded by tears at the thought of all this happening again that he couldn't see.
Who's his defense attorney : )
Whoa. You said what I said, only I hadn't gotten to yours when I said what I said!
He hit both sides. Troop Supporters put the flags out.
Public service in removing trash is all I see. Guess he just didn't get a chance to go back and pick it up.
Camp Casey has way overstepped its bounds.
Ms. Sheehan can thank her lucky stars my son's name wasn't on one. I've been thinking about that. And haven't quite come up with what I think would be an APPROPRIATE RESPONSE.
SCREW HER.
How many crosses are there without the NOK permission?!!!!!!
What if Jason C. Ford is rolling in his grave at the thought of Ms. Sheehan using him?
Where'd everybody go? lol
So I get the last word for tonight. Talking to myself.
Self, if that was my son's cross, I'd give the guy a kiss.
No. It would be civil disobedience.
Larry rocks.
So what's the hub-bub bub? He only ran over some crosses. You'd think he ran over a Koran.....
Nope. I was thinking a class-C misdemeanor.
One Houstonian to another here... WRONG!
I'm not going to support anyone's bad manners, not her trespassing or his vandalism.
He's not the first person who had to drive in the ditch to get around these idiots.I heard reports from several of the property owners having to do the same just to come and go from their homes.
"Do I remember you from SBVT?"
Yes
