Able Danger official identified

Able Danger official identified. Delco Times columnist Gil Spencer, who has long covered Curt Weldon's Pennsylvania district, has just interviewed the Able Danger official who is going public tonight on Fox News. Spencer is the first journalist I am aware of to reveal the identity of the Able Danger official who originally briefed the 9/11 commission staff about Able Danger's findings back in October 2003 at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan. That official is DIA Ltn. Col. Tony Shaffer. He served in a liaison capacity between Able Danger and the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in Tampa, Florida, and he flew into Afghanistan with special ops in a boots on the ground capacity. (Shaffer confirmed to Spencer that he is indeed the "Anonymous" who has posted some comments about Able Danger over at Inteldump, by the way.) More soon on their interview. It's still a bit vague as to what exactly on Atta and the "Brooklyn cell" the Able Danger team came up with, but Shaffer did tell Spencer that the Able Danger team briefed then Special Ops commander, now Army Chief of Staff Pete Schoomaker on their findings. Shaffer also told Spencer that he had met with Pentagon intel czar Stephen Cambone in the E-ring today about the Able Danger issue, so clearly the Pentagon is paying attention. Stay tuned.

Great minds think alike. I just asked the same thing.

I am flattered to be considered on the same plain!

Thank God there are still patriots that put their country before their own ambitions.

That's what bothers me most about this story. So many people on the right have been quick to treat these military sources like the MSM-left treated the Swiftboat Vets.

well let's face it, he does have an axe to grind. he likely feels he had a program that could have been useful to stopping an act of terror, but was thwarted by the "legal" process. I can't comment on the "kook" part, but of course the MSM and the 9-11 committee members (both parties, we shouldn't be naive about that) will demonize him as such.

the MSM indeed reaches a significant segment of americans - but not all of them. and a good percentage of the ones they reach, are hopelessly lost anyway. if this story has merit, better it be judged and vetted by a smaller group of people who are concerned about this. let's see where the truth takes us on this.

LOL, Jim today was a hoot.

I was on a thread where this git that had just signed on one month ago was advocating violence against CS.

I challenged him on it and called him a troll.

He told me to go back to reading my notes.

Then,(this is the good part) someone from DU that was monitoring the thread posted it on DU.

Someone from DU reported him to the FBI.

They got one of their own.

As to the title Dark and Co. (King Proust) gave me the title as a honorarium.
