Here is where that report originally came from. Interesting to note the error in which FR comes in 4th but is actually 3rd in number of hits. Drudge runs his number up with the auto refresh. The evidence of that is the unique visitor disparity.
Amazing that DU is not even on the list but LGF is - unless they don't rank DU as a blog. They put FR in the political news blog like dailykos.
The chart is at about the middle on page 6.

I guess that explains why, if I have a window open to Drudge, it hiccups.
To me there is a clear distinction between a fancy vanity (blog) and a place for discussion of ideas we may not even choose, but nevertheless challenge us.
Of course, I don't like even the word "blog", so I hope I can be remain objective about it.

What are the Huffington Post and Fark?
I'm not just saying this to be snide - I've just never heard of them, looking for a little education.
The way the media is always quoting dailykos and gawker I thought they would have many more hits. I can't believe Huffington Post can get many readers. It's a bunch of narcissistic, elitists writing to each other thinking they are brilliant. I read that the creative coalition is giving Huffington their big award for 2005.
It's two taste treats in one!

I think there's a decent argument to be made that it is, despite all expectations, a web log ("blog"). It's a humongous, openly-authored log of media and opinions. Think of it as a group blog with the group being very large and not necessarily of the same opinion.
Yes it is. But there are a lot of Freepers who always say, "FR is not a blog", whenever it is referred to as a blog. I wanted to beat them to the draw.
Blogs are a sign of rampent under-employment in our economy.
