It cooled down great here. We have not had any amount of rain, but sure is nice to have it cooler.

Ok ya'll, I have a story to share. Most of you know we go to our country place on the weekends. It's a pretty nice house, if plain. We had it built about 7 years ago so it's fairly new and things generally work pretty well there. We recently had to get a new Fridge, cause ours quit working, and also our diswasher sprung a leak. So hubby decided to have a repairman out to fix the diswasher and tell us whether it was worth it to try to fix the fridge. (Sometimes on big weekends it'd be GREAT to have two!) SO....The repairman came out on Saturday morning about 10. I had 1 of the 8 kids down for a nap, 5 playing in the garage, 2 playing in a bedroom ~ I wanted them to clear out of the main room so they wouldn't overwhelm the poor guy.
So he comes in and looks the fridge over and says it's a simple thermostat, he'll order the part, no big deal and be back next weekend to fix us up.
Then he goes over to the dishwasher and pulls the kickplate off the bottom and starts rummaging around. "Hmmmmm...." he says, "How do you feel about...." "Mice?" I finished for him. "I figured it was a mouse that chewed thru a hose. We're pretty used to that." He says... "Well..." and I'm thinking "What??? ALREADY!" And he says "Yep. There's a nest here...OH MAN!" And he reaches under the dishwasher and starts pulling something out. Keep in mind, I'm halfway across the room sitting ou the couch. I hear him say "C'mon now, relax" and I look over and he's pulling a BLACK RACER SNAKE out from under the dishwasher.
The snake finally relaxed it's hold on whatever it was holding onto and he pulled it all the way out, but he had ahold of it by it's middle. So he drops it on the floor and OF COURSE it starts heading straight for me. I am now STANDING UP ON THE COUCH...but he stepped on it's tail and bent down and picked it up. The thing was quite literally 4 feet long. He and hubby took it out and put it in the pump house were a rat is known to be in residence, but we can never catch it. SO hopefully Mr. Snake will feast on Senor Rat (as we not so affectionately call him.)
Whew! All I can say is THANK GOD FOR COUNTRY BOY REPAIRMEN!! The city boys we get here would've been poopin' in their pants. LOL!!!

If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life, And I had to start again with just my children and my wife, I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today, 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away. I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A. From the lakes of Minnesota to the hills of Tennessee, Across the plains of Texas from sea to shining sea. From Detroit down to Houston and New York to L.A., There's pride in every American heart and it's time we stand and say: I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land. God Bless America and Our Great Military
