provides the clearest proof yet that she should resign. We regret any inconvenience to you, your staff, or the Constitution. Respectfully, the 9/11 Commissioners.

well, fiddle deedee, I sure botched posting the excerpt. Just ignore and click on the article, it's worthwhile, and rips Gorelick to pieces for writing a CYA op-ed in the Washington Post while the hearings were ongoingg.

For those expecting any Able Danger pile-on.
BUMP
Gorelick should've recused herself from that portion of the hearings and appeared as a witness before the Commission.
In fact, she should still consider it before someone on her team bumps her off because she's a real risk to the Hillary '08 campaign. If she comes clean, she won't be at risk of being dragged into the debate of Hillary's fitness to be commander-in-chief.
I'm in one of those moods that believes Hillary will do anything... Anything... To get to the White House.
Gorelick and her attorneys obviously spent some time preparing this defense.
bump
The article was worth the re-read. Bottom line is she was placed on the panel so she would not be called to the box to explain why she hamstrung our Intel groups. No other way to look at it. Now if Weldon can back from his trip to NK in one piece, and Turner doesn't have him poisoned or something on the plane, Maybe things will continue to move forward on this deal.
If DC were anything other than a cesspool of power whores covering their own asses 24/7 this bitch would go to jail.
"Gorelick should've recused herself from that portion of the hearings and appeared as a witness before the Commission. "
It was no small coincidence to find friendly Ben sitting next to her most of the time during the public 9/11 airtime. The rats had defense plans carefully worked out through all phases of the joke, and the Republican side just let them get away with murder.
Hi YaYa1123 -- bumping for later -- it's past time to go to bed. FReep On!
Of course this went right over the heads of the Bush adminstration.
There's a strong precedence for not pursuing and punishing members of a previous administration... Republicans don't want to break from the tradition because they don't want to risk what the Democrats will do to us if we ever lose power... And while we might only punish those who deserve punishment, I don't trust the Democrats to exercise any restraint when they go about consolidating their power in the event that they win back the Congress and the Presidency.
I think it dates back to the earliest years of the Republic.
" Of course this went right over the heads of the Bush adminstration."
I don't think so. I think there was nothing no one could do. Each side had the right to choose who would sit on the panel.
And for the Republicans to come out a make remarks about her would have been pre-mature. Think about it. The panel was formed supposedly to get to the bottom of our Intel problems, and offer suggestions how to fix them. To say that Reno and Gorelick had fouled up in a royal way, would have been putting the cart before the oxe so to speak. The DU's knew exactly what they wanted to accomplish and any hint of foul play on the Republican side obviously would have been magnified by the L/MSM. Be bastards knew they would get away with putting her on the panel, and having Benny boy sitting at her side.
My thoughts or vision exactly.
"There's a strong precedence for not pursuing and punishing members of a previous administration...."
I can easily agree with all you said. Both sides have a traditional some what obligatory reason to protect all. Only those truly caught in an alleged criminal act, should be considered fair game. But as you also said. The DU's seldom play by the rules. Due to their allegience to Trosky and Lenin, and torch carriers of communisim of recent times, they hold no allegience to fair play. That would piss Lenin off.
There is absolutely no need to bring in Hillary conspiracy talk into this chain of events.
There is absolutely no need to talk blindly about Berger's document stealing when talking about Able Danger.
There case is cut and dry, clear as day to anyone who listens to a 50 second TV report or 300 word write up of these events that she has seriously violated the trust of the American people, chose to not only follow the lesser ethical route for her personal political ideology, she also continues to obfuscate the necessary work, be it by the 9/11 commission or a new body, to discern the historical record of 9/11.
